Guest guest Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 Hi Everyone I was wondering if anybodies child is currently taking or has taken colchicine. Hannah is currently on it. Her fevers have gotten a little better and the fatigue is better but I can't be sure if it is the medicine or just her normal cycles. Her joint pain and swelling, rashes and constipation is the same. She tends to have a temporary break following a particularly bad episode which she had in October and November. We were recently at NIH and they have decided to leave her on it for another 3 months to be sure. However, my question is about behavior. Hannah was put on the colchicine this past November. Since then she seems to be very excitable and has crying episodes which she also had when she was on the prednisone. It is not her normal behavior. So I was wondering if anyone elses child has reacted to the colchicine that way? I am trying to determine if it is the medicine or if she is just going through some kind of phase that 4 year olds go through. I do notice her hyper behavior is worse in the afternoons following her second dose of medicine. Of course, I have considered that maybe the medicine is just making her feel better and I am just not use to her feeling well enough to have so much energy. Just would like to hear from some other parents opinions on it. Thank you! Carey Mom to Hannah Rose 4 years old not yet diagnosed. ville, TN Quote
