Guest guest
Driving a long distancesf especially 5 hour trip both ways a few times a week when you have a 9 hour a day job. Then couple that with a son that is chronicly ill and spends 3 hours a day on the toilet, doesn't sleep at night and tries to sleep during the day. A lot of days he can not even keep his regular appointments with his Doctors who are only 20 minutes away. I risk loosing these doctors when you cancel appointments so many times. I am a widow, my husband passed away 1 year ago with lung cancer. I have to take care of my son and work. I have noone to help me. I am just tsrying to keep my son alive. None of these doctors have any clue how to help my son. I

Guest guest
I have already had a comprehensive stool anaylis done and many other test throughSmokey Diagnostics. It showed had clostridium at one time, celiac disease, and high levels of yeast. The doctor tried Nystatin but did not help. He ws treated for Lymes Disease and had an IV in his arm for 2 months. That did not help. He has had 3 colonoscopies which indicated that he had Gastritis and a past infection. He has had every conceivable neurological test. He has been diagnosed with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, Myotonic Diystrophy (which is the same as Muscular Dystrophy. He has chronic pain throughout his body, cannot sleep at night and tries to sleep during the day. He has a very poor quality of life. He has no friends. I am the only person he has. My husband passed ago 1 year ago. II work 45 hours a week and run to doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, dentist, behavioral optometrists, neurologists, ear nose and throat doctors, allergists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, Endocrinologists He is really now to sick to go anywhere. He lost 21 pounds and is very skinny. I am afraid he will not live. I will try a DAN doctor at this point in time if I can get my son out of bed. Thank you for answering my e-mail. Please keep in touch.

Guest guest
Elaine, I don't know of any DAN! visits that are several times a week. It's closer to several times a year, and many of them will do phone consultations. I'll tell you what (parent-to-parent, I'm not a medical professional or offering medical advice) you could start off with a $500 comprehensive digestive stool culture with parisitology from www.directlabs.com & learn a LOT. You'd have to pay out of pocket, though. Is there any chance you could talk your local doctor into paying it. Have you put him on a gluten-free, casein-free diet? Do you know what that is? It's okay if you don't, we can explain it to you. It sounds like he could have parasites, bacteria, or even celiac. May I ask why he doesn't keep his appointments? Is it because he's sleeping or having bowel movements? I can imagine he's probably so depressed it's hard to keep appointments if he feels it's another dead end. I'm so sorry about your situation. I know it's hard. One of my best friends lost her husband to lung cancer 3 days after their daughter's first birthday. She had no job & her family was 4 hours away. I know it's not easy, there were many times that friends offering to feed them & their landlord giving them breaks on rent was how they survived. I know it's not easy. Guest guest
I have already had comprehensive stool analysis performed by Smokey Diagnostics and it was paid for by Medicaid. My gastroenterologist also ordered stool testing but did not come up with anything. However, the Smokey tests showed Celiac Disease and high levels of yeast. My son went on Nystatin and it did not help him. As for going to see a doctor that is miles away, the day I would have my appointment my son could not get out of bed and he did not sleep the many days before and was too tired and if e did get up he would go to the bathroom and repeatedly move his bowels with bouts of diarrheat. He also frequently urinates. By the time he can get out of the house it is around 5PM in the evening. Very rarely can he go anywhere at an earlier time. I am living a very difficult life and I go to the enth degree to make things happen. But it never does.
Guest guest
Elaine - YOU CAN DO THIS. Of course the doc wants to meet your son. No one diagnosis over the phone. Unless your son has a broken back I can not see how he is too sick to travel. This is not an easy journey - you're close to getting him help - now you'll need to find family or friends who will HELP YOU to help your son. FInd three people who will ride in the car with you. Plan a day trip to Edison to Dr. Neubrander. One day of discomfort is far better than a lifetime for a young man to suffer. You went through labor to deliver him - that took pain. Pain with a purpose. Think of this as the very same - pain for progress. If you continue to say your son is too sick to travel to a doctor then this really isn't the list for you. We ACT for our kids. You can too. It's hard. It's ugly. It sucks that we have to do it. Now schedule that appointment or live with your son's pain. Those are your choices, Elaine. You've asked for help. Many have offered a starting point. The rest is up to you. God Bless, Kim (channeling a little Holly.) Dr. Neubrander said the same thing. Guest guest
Put him into an adult diaper and drive. He doesn't have to live like this. You can do it, Elaine. We're not giving up on you or him.

Guest guest
Is he not getting out of bed because he can't physically move or because he doesn't want to? The too tired thing seems like an excuse to me. Please don't think I'm bashing you or him at all, that's not my intent. But if he can get up and go to the bathroom repeatedly he can walk from bed to car, can he not? He has to be willing to work with you, you cannot do it all by yourself. Have you tried any sleep aids like 5-hydroxytryptophan or melatonin to help him sleep? Is he drinking caffeine? I asked in an email to you, is he following the celiac diet to a T? Even tiny infractions can have disasterous consequences. I You can also take a portable potty for him to sit on in the vehicle. You can also sometimes get transportation aid, like an ambulance, I don't know the details on that. Have you considered getting a social worker? I don't know if he/she could help, might come up with some better solutions. Guest guest
Maybe your home doctor can give you a script for valiums. A valium or two and your son will go happily anywhere. We use them for blood draws, dentist appts and a few other potentially impossible situations. I do not like to drug my child but sometimes the gains are worth it. --- elaine.mack@... wrote: > I have alrady been told that the doctor wanats to > see my son in person > before he treats him. Everyone there is very helpful and use the doctors in the area including Dr. Neubrander, Dr. Freedenfeld, Dr. Foss-, Dr. Magaziner, Dr. Deng and probably a few others I am forgetting. Guest guest
Carolyn, In our case after removing amalgams, we were then ready to use cilantro tincture ,lots of eggs, chorella (green food from ponds),apple pectin,to chelate. Homeopathic remedies to address the behavior symptoms and other issues. This kind of chelation took 4 years, to clear the mercury my son had. I also gave lots of vitamins/minerals (magnesium for the tremor he had). Punch -line when tested again he had gained 14 iq points over the last test 11 years before. He is now clear of all OCD symtoms. And back to work. My son has given me permission to share his storey to help others. Thanks for asking. Nora ps I really appreciate learning how you all deal with this, I feel it's all a long line with many *names* attached depending on where the poisons land in the person..and how heavily the have been slammed with same. n Adult son with Asperger's> > > > I need help.
