Hi Deb,

My rectal itching went away on this diet. I'm not

sure how long it took because it was just one day I

was sitting around thinking it had been a while since

my butt itched.

It was anywhere from 3-6 months into the diet that it

went away.

Debby

Hi Bee,

Thanks. I took a lot on the files and did read it all, but did not

find any sources from New Zealand. If there is, I missed it.

I am going to look around, I think I may have found a place that

sends organic coconut oil out and it is in a city in my country, so I

will look into it and make sure it is the real macoy and if it is, I

will let you know and perhaps you could add that to your sources for

us New Zealanders!

I hope it's good stuff. The one on the weblink I sent you was

probably ok, but I do think it was bleached/deodorised if I recall,

so would obviously not have the benefits of the stuff that is organic

and unrefined.

> THANK GOD for this oil :)janey

Hi Janey. It is a marvelous food for sure! Well done on taking it

for 3 days. It does provide such immediate energy for the body

without taxing the body's resources. Good fats are a much more

efficient source of energy than carbs by a long shot! You are

bloated because coconut oil is antifungal and when it kills candida

the candida puts out carbon dioxide which is gas. To avoid

constipation do not eat too much protein without eating a correct

ratio of good fats. You might try having other fats too, i.e. extra

virgin olive oil and butter.

You go girl!!

Coconut oil wouldn't cause cloudy urine. Didn't you say you had pain

You kidneys could be causing your cloudy urine. Apply wet heat to the

area that hurts, take Epsom salt baths, and drink 4-5 cups of fresh

parsley tea per day for at least a week or more, until your symptoms

subside: pour a cup of boiling water over 1/4 cup of fresh parsley

leaves (do not use stems or seeds) and let it stand for 5 minutes,

strain it, and drink it. If heavy metals are causing it the parsley tea

will help flush it out.

Let me know if that works for you. I have a few moles, that I

probably need to get checked out, but I'm concerned about what the

doctor might do. Also, Debbie said i should try tea tree oil for a

skin symptom I've been having; white pigment spots all up and down

both arms. She said it may be caused by a fungus (I forget the name).

Instead of tea tree oil, I'm going to try rubbing coconut oil on them

every night and see what happens. Maybe between the healthy diet and

the coconut oil I can get rid of it.

Many Blessings,

It's called Tinea Versicolor. The Versicolor is like

for " reverse color " (latin IIRC) and what happens is

the fungus/yeast creates a layer on your skin that

doesn't let the sun through. So when you get some

color on your skin, the parts that have the fungus

stay pale.

Also sometimes you have flaking or other skin

problems. I had it for a while when I was tanning

myself at the salon and I'd have parts of my back that

wouldn't tan. I used a stiff brush and tea tree oil

soap regularly and then had to re-tan the white spots.

I've had great results with coconut oil for all kinds

of things, so I don't see why it wouldn't work,

although personally I've only had experience with tea

tree oil so I can't say for sure if it would work.

Betty, when I started eating more good saturated fats about 4 years ago

my moles got very dry and itchy, and eventually they disintegrated.

They seemed to just flake off. I was scheduled to get a large one cut

off my back, but it disappeared before the appointment time. LOL!

started getting very dry and flakey, and they disintegrated even

though I didn't apply anything directly on them - they were on my

back which is hard to reach. The white pigment spots you have are a

form of fungus called tinea versicolor. Coconut oil, oil of oregano

or clove oil work as well as tea tree oil.

Hi Jack,

Coconut Oil used topically should be of the same high quality as any

coconut oil you would eat. Your skin readily absorbs the oil so you

want it to be high quality. Make sure you get coconut oil that is

unrefined and virgin or extra virgin, some but not all, are also

designated as " organic " . So far as I know, WalMart does NOT sell

coconut oil that fits those criteria. GNC is probably not going to be

a good source either. They tend to have higher prices on things an

only sell their " house brand " . Many health food stores sell different

brands of CO or you can buy coconut oil online.

If you go to our group website there is a coconut oil file that has

results of a group survey that I did a year or more ago. It lists

different brands of CO and how they taste and where to buy them.

One place not in that list/survey that many of us are now buying from

is Mountain Rose Herbs. http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/

By far, they have the best price although, recently someone metioned

their coconut oil is out of stock right now.

best of luck

==>Virgin Coconut Oil can only be achieved by using fresh coconut meat

or what is called non-copra. Chemicals and high heating are not used

in further refining, since the natural, pure coconut oil is very

stable with a shelf life of several years.

Maybe contact the company to get clarification; they might not have

specified enough by stating it is from non-copra. After all copra is

the coconut meat.

Hi Marla,

Your raise a good question...on the Mtn. Rose Herbs website they state

their oil is Certified Organic, Expeller Pressed and Unrefined. I've

also read about " copra " ...I found this paragraph on the Tropical

Traditions website descrbing copra:

" Most commercial grade coconut oils are made from copra. Copra is

basically the dried kernel (meat) of the coconut. It can be made by:

smoke drying, sun drying, or kiln drying , or derivatives or a

combination of these three. If standard copra is used as a starting

material, the unrefined coconut oil extracted from copra is not

suitable for consumption and must be purified, that is refined. This

is because the way most copra is dried is not sanitary. The standard

end product made from copra is RBD coconut oil. RBD stands for

refined, bleached, and deodorized. High heat is used to deodorize the

oil, and the oil is typically filtered through (bleaching) clays to

remove impurities. Sodium hydroxide is generally used to remove free

fatty acids and prolong shelf life. This is the most common way to

mass-produce coconut oil. The older way of producing refined coconut

oil was through physical/mechanical refining (see Tropical Traditions

Expeller Pressed Coconut Oil.). More modern methods also use chemical

solvents to extract all the oil from the copra for higher yields. "

Mtn. Rose Herbs describes the extraction process as drying at 100

degrees and pressed at temps. below 100 degrees. From that descirption

one would assume it goes through the minimum of processing, no

chemicals used and nothing about deodorization.

I use their oil, love the taste and have confidence in its qulaity...

but if you have further concern I would agree with Bee, write to them

and ask for clarification. If you do, would you report back to us and

let us know what they tell you? thanks!

Hi Janelle,

No, you're not doing anything wrong. You're having a healing reaction.

I can tell you from personal experience that it will get better

(vaginal issues were my main candida problem)...but it gets a little

worse at first because the body has to release the toxins.

please do return it to the store. Ordinarily virgin or extra virgin

coconut oil is very pleasant.

sister sent me some last year, and it was heavenly. I ate it by the

spoonfuls.

I have not tried that brand, and I've actually never heard of that brand.

Not that I'm an expert, but I've been on boards when coconut oils were

discussed. That brand never came up as " in the running " for a high quality

oil. Is that expeller pressed? I have some expeller pressed coconut oil

that is supposed to not taste like coconuts. At first, I really liked it.

But as I ate more and more of it, it began to take on a rancid smell to me.

As it turns out, I smelled some fresh expeller pressed coconut oil, and it

also smells rancid to me. So, my nose and tastebuds no longer like it.

Some brands that I do know are reputable and are of high quality are:

Garden of Life

Tropical Traditions

Wilderness Family Naturals (I use this brand because I get it cheaper

through my coop.)

Hi there,

please take a look at the coconut oil survey in the files. I surveyed

members of this group to get their feedback on what coconut oil brands

they used, what it tasted like, etc. NOW brand CO did not rank very

well. Many other brands were favored over it....If you find you really

don't like the taste of CO, I think Tropical Traditions offers a

tasteless version...again, check that survey and you'll find the info.

good luck!

fyi - I own a bottle of the Tropical Traditions Expeller Pressed coconut

oil. It is supposed to be tasteless, however, I find that it does have a

flavor that is quite revolting to me. It *could* be because it's in a

5-gallon bucket and it took on a plasticky flavor, but I had another woman

(a WAP leader actually) come over and she said it smelled just like hers,

and she likes it. I only use it for body lotion now so it won't go to

waste. But I couldn't bring myself to eat it.

==>Hi. What is your name? Oil and water do not mix - it will clog up

a spray bottle for sure! Coconut oil is liquidy but you use so very

little and it goes a long ways. Put a small amount in the middle of

your hand, rub your two hands together to spread it around and rub it

on.

I use it as a moisturizer on my face and everywhere. It is also a

great deoderant as is. It doesn't damage clothes because it washes out

easily, like all nature-made fats & oils. Since man-made fats and oils

that are 1 molecule away from being plastic it makes them very hard to

wash them out of clothes, off skin or even on dishes and plasticware.

They are like melted Tupperware.

Coconut oil starts to solidify when the temp. is below 72-76 degrees

Farenheit. If your coconut oil is to " liquidy " just put it in the

fridge for awhile and and it will solidify (I keep mine in the fridge

during the summer months cuz' I don't like to eat it when it's in a

liquid state). Once the CO solidifies you can measure it with

measuring spoons or just scoop a spoonful out of the jar and rub it

into your skin. It will start to melt on contact because you're so

warm! :o)
