Lorna,

My personal opinion is that you should try cimetidine first. It has worked

for many children on the site. If the cimetidine does not work after about

6 months or so, I would opt for the tonsillectomy. That is the route we

ended up taking. The cimetidine lowered our son's fevers and spread them

out, but didn't stop them. The tonsillectomy stopped the fevers (although

I'm always afraid to say that because I don't want to " jinx " him or

something).

We never used prednisone, so I can't speak to that issue.
