Zone Diet --- Re: help to stay the course

Hi folks:

I know nothing about the Zone diet, but I do recall Dr. Walford

saying that while Dr. Sears periodically made claims about the diet's

scientific basis, he (Dr. Walford) had never seen the scientific

papers, on which the diet was supposedly based, referenced.

In contrast, we are all VERY familiar with the science (because it

has almost all been posted here) which demonstrates the extraordinary

health benefits of caloric restriction, as well as the other issues

we discuss here relating to health, including 'ON'. And I try to

implement the principles those studies imply in my life.

If there really is good science supporting an adherence to a specific

ratio of macronutrients, I wonder why it hasn't been posted here.

Perhaps it has? If so, maybe someone could supply the number of the

post or posts in question. Please.

Rodney.

FWIW: I am now taking 50,000 IU of vitamin D3 once every two to

three weeks. I get it from Bio-Tech Pharmacal. It costs about $40

including shipping for a five-year supply for one person. The

company's website says it is an FDA-licenced pharmaceutical

manufacturer. (Of course I have no interest in the companiy's

activities except as a customer).
