Welcome to our group! I'm Vicki (SMA II), and I live in Converse...outside of

SA, near Randolph AFB. I'm a 48 yr old former VR Counselor who worked many

years for the State. Now, I am the Director of Pet Pals of Texas

(www.petpalsoftexas.org). I'm married; can often be found at Port Aransas; love

to hike,

fish, travel, and collect folk art; and I am an avid Spurs fan. Like you, I too

am

a trained disability advocate and hold an M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling

from the University of North Texas. Let me know if I can help!

My name is Tinka, and I am so fortunate to have been allowed to join

this group. I am a social worker, have been involved in home

health/hospice for over 15 years, and live in Texas, outside of San

. I have also worked as a probation officer, so everyone in my

small county knows me,( he, he,) owned and operated a personal care

home, caring for the elderly and disabled, ie. Altzheimers, ALS, and

worked as a mental health counselor at Bexar County Jail - that was a

trip. My true love, however is home health. I care for my 84 yoa mom

and a 90 yoa friend, but I do free lance social work as a business.

There is too much stored in this old brain as far as resources to just

stop. I have dealt with Social Security, Medicare, Medicare, DMEs, and

the whole system. I have also assisted friends on line to access

resources in states other than Texas. Right now, I am trying to assist

a 51 yoa lady with SMA to access her resources. I hope to learn from

each and everyone of you, and provide any assistance I can. Please

feel free to access my 360 blog - Back 3 for more information. I

raise Bassets, Dorper sheep, and am an avid gardener also, and try to

update as often as I can.

Thanks for reading, and looking forward to chatting with you in this

very special group.
