Guest guest Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 I have 3 children, one with low verbal autism who is currently chelating. His older brother had braces and I worried about the metal in his mouth. Now their younger sister has expanders, which I thank flouride for the need of, and is scheduled to get braces in addition. I worry about the metals and my duaghter worries about not being able to talk or eat. When I tried to talk to the orthodonist about the metals, she said they were approved for oral use and turned away. I must be slow because I didn't say anything about mercury. Does anyone have information or experience with metals from braces? I have found and read lots about mercury fillings but very little on braces.
