Guest guest
In California and other states, PAs help people that work. The issue is Medicaid rules. " it won't help disabled people who can work " is untrue.... Medicaid is having more buy-ins to lessen the enforced poverty stuff, and in Mass., income limit is 54k for pas. Enforced poverty isn't always a given. That people will not have the ability to still hire their own people and exist entirely outside the system also is untrue. MiCASSA isn't a panacea, nothing is; but it's a good step. If anything MiCASSA is not broad enough, does not address many of the underlying flaws in Medicaid.. The flaws are countless. Enforced poverty has to stop. There must be a strong enough safety net so that people are not continually left to die without help. I wouldn't have just gone two days on 4 hours of sleep writing in support of it if I didn't really believe MiCASSA is good. I never want to force people a step backwards, just the thought of that pains me. Jerry, you're not a heretic. Your views are extremely important to listen to, even though I strongly disagree. We like living in our homes with our families like everyone else. Please, someone enlighten me! Jenn
Guest guest
Jenn, Your state needs to open up Medicaid home care to families with incomes. The hope is that more states will do this if home care is mandatory. That not everyone will be covered by MiCASSA is upsetting. MiCASSA is merely one step in the right direction. We're going to have people falling through the cracks until we get the basic moral imperative that everyone deserves life-giving care codified into law, UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, something which I will continue to fight for. I try. I'll help you Jenn! Guest guest
universal health care is not the answer either. countries w/universal healthcare have a 2-3 yr waiting list just to see a dr. i am already seeing this happen. i have to wait almost a yr to see an ob/gyn. this is mostly b/c of the high malpratice in PA but i never thought it would take a yr to see a dr. kimi
