I don't know if you should allow JB and in, have you read what the Autism Diva said about them?? I wouldn't trust my child with them!!!

They actually believe Mercury is the second most toxic substance in the world!!! Everyone knows(I'm not a toxicologist or a gynecologist) but there are some other reallllly bad things out there too.....like like....

Cornflakes for example...they are preserved with BHT!!!!

BHT is probably the reason why kids hand flap and smear poop.

But there is dignity to poop smearing we must all grow to appreciate.

Autism smautism.

oooooh I get so tired bashing innocent parents

it's time for me to put my little Diva butt in bed!!!

signed

who is really Leroy

who is really Mable

who is really Tyrone

who had way too much Diet Coke tonight.

Thanks and JB. Lord knows, we need and appreciate all your help!

The validation that your NY Times ad gave us made my wife cry (fulfilling

biomedical

protocols is a stressful endeavor and sometimes we feel like there is no

support--public

validation is vital).

The most toxic substance has to be dihydrogen monoxide. It has been

found in every cancerous tumor and is a component of every identified

severe neurological cell pathology. It's in every vaccine, too. Every

child with autism has injested a notable quantity of it within the 24

hour period preceeding the onset of severe autism symptoms. The

scientific notation of dihydrogen monoxide, just so you know, is H2O.

Yes, water is extremely dangerous. It fuels thunderstorms and hurricanes...and

can kill en

masse during a tsunami. Some people have even been killed slipping in the

bathtub!

All the same, I'll drink my bottled water, happily...and anyone who considers

thimerosal

" safe " is welcome to ALL THE FLU VACCINES THEY CAN HANDLE! :-)

Yeah, sure.

It's water.

What were we all thinking?

Thanks and JB.

Bob - I'll collect the responses I've gotten from interested groups so we can start a contact list.

I really like the idea of a "peer network".

So far I've got NAA, UA, Generation Rescue, A-CHAMP, Charlotte STAR, SafeMinds, Autism One and that really hot guy from California. Did I miss anyone that has already responded?

NAA-LI? NAA-NJ? You guys in?

NAANJ has been kicking this idea around for a while. NJ is so divided among the groups and I can only imagine that this is a national problem.

I would be honored to help this Coalition

Bob - I'll collect the responses I've gotten from interested groups so we can start a contact list.

I really like the idea of a " peer network " .

So far I've got NAA, UA, Generation Rescue, A-CHAMP, Charlotte STAR, SafeMinds, Autism One and that really hot guy from California. Did I miss anyone that has already responded?

NAA-LI? NAA-NJ? You guys in?

Can I tell you how funny this is because I just told Gilmore this sunday morning- that when we send out an action alert or important email, or even press release- we should go around and have people sign on to it. So, it shows the actually groups coming together and getting involved. I think it adds more to the item- like it just doesn't come from one person. Makes people pay attention and take it more seriously.

Another suggestion: I think it would also be wise to consider local

political groups working with A-CHAMP and this new coalition. That

way, all the biggies are in, but all the people working at the state

level are also involved. I know it may be impossible to have a

delegate from each state, but for the states with people already in

place, already pushing for the right kind of legislation to help our

kids, it could bring in more support. Just my .02

Thanks, Christinia. That is precisely what we had in mind.

By the way, I know that TACA, A.'s group, is very supportive and

is interested in helping to lead this effort.

,

I see Bob Krakow has already answered your email. I would just like to add

A-CHAMP intends to

do this and is already working with and is supportive of several

organizations in their state level initiatives.

One of the reoccurring comments made by congressional staff is that 'the

autism community is

NOT united'. This has enabled them to dismiss our concerns saying, 'you

people don't even agree

amongst yourselves'. Even one of our best allies, Congressman Weldon, has

made this observation.

And they can always find some people to point too and say they disagree with

us. And while we may

not always agree on every issue, we do agree in principle on most issues and

that our children's rights and

health must be protected and made a priority by our elected officials.

It has been suggested by several senior staffers that they would like one

group to deal with. They have

difficulty and don't have the time to meet individually with everyone. While

sympathetic to individual

parents stories, they are not generally persuaded to take policy positions

or enact legislation based on

them. We feel our elected officials are responsible to all of their

constituents, and each individual has a right

to be heard. However, if we provide them with an organization that

represents many in our community they

will take us and our issues more seriously. We take away their excuse for

doing nothing. The more supporting

groups included in that organization, the more powerful our community

becomes. Each group or individual is

still able to pursue areas of interest with their representatives, but we

need to have our own lobbying group that

will coordinate with our organizations, become a presence in DC and take our

issues forward in order to influence

our elected officials and develop long term strategies that will benefit all

our children.

Having a list of supporting organizations gives our community power when we

address political issues whether it

be in Congress or in the state legislatures. When A-CHAMP goes, it will go

with the support of numerous other

organizations. A-CHAMP has just begun to list supporting organizations

(large national and small state groups)

on the website as well as supporting individuals who want their voice heard.

Several well respected organizations

have already agreed to add their name in support of A-CHAMP. We are

extremely honored to have their support

and confidence. Any individual or organization, no matter how small, can

join A-CHAMP by going to the website.

http://www.a-champ.org/contact.html

I have every confidence in the power of our community and believe that we

can be every bit as influential as NRA, AARP

or any other special interest organization. Like a well prepared militia,

the more battalions, the more soldiers we have, the

more we can influence the outcome of the battle. And like a choir, the

bigger we are, the more powerful our voice becomes.

Ettina,

We are not discussing logic or facts, we are discussing core beliefs

here. You and the " autism diva " have a set of beliefs that is

fundamentally at odds with those of everyone else here. We see a

crisis in childhood health, where there is an epidemic of disability

among children who would have previously not have had these

disabilities. We do not accept that this illness is inevitable or

positive for our children, we see it as a change imposed by external

causes (there is no such thing as a genetic epidemic) to who are

children truly are. Many of us have children who cannot express

themselves, carry on sophisticated debates and comprehend

abstractions like discrimination and group pride. If they ended up as

high functioning as you, it would be a celebration for most families

here. So congratulations on your work, your acheivements and your

strong sense of self esteem. That is wonderful.

But to the extent that you seek debate on the question of first

principles, you are wasting all of our time, including yours. We have

work to do and don't really have much patience for abstract debates

that require us to accept your beliefs on our children and their

futures as reasonable. We have responsibilities to provide for the

best future for our children: their health, their progress, their

maximum potential. To those " autistics " (most of whom do not carry

the official diagnosis of " autistic disorder " ) who want us to stop

doing this work, I think we have to say: stop wasting our time with

unproductive debates. We have more important concerns to attend to.

I am SO in on this!

Last year when attending Unlocking Autism's PAC (Political Autism

Conference) I met with a handful of superb congressmen and senators.

Mostly, their honesty and support left me " stunned " (I am not being

naive here b/c I have met my share of really bad ones back in the

days when I was a canvassing activist fighting the gritty

environmental issues... I think that was a life-time ago).

Anyhoot, I got the same message from everyone..... Autism

organizations need to join together as one. There's a reason Autism

receives little support from the Capital and that's b/c the community

is so divided. I was told that the national children's diabetes

association receives the most support from the capital b/c it is ONE

organization fighting for the children, no confusions and no battles

for money/support amongst numerous groups. The recommendation was

that we all join together, as ONE.

And, the children's diabetes association bring the children with them-

--the politicians can SEE the ill child and this makes it personal.

My congressman, now sadly retired, told me that after meeting with

those children the politicians can't sleep at night until they can do

something to help.

So, what do you all say? Take our kids and have a big " melt-down " at

the Capital, united as ONE?????

Happy posting those Mercury flyers! :o) I'm having fun with this one

and on my way to shock my local peds tomorrow... already got it going

on the minivan (the vehicle we swore we'd never own before kids) and

I post on every building in my view. I always leave behind vaccine

information business cards too. And, give Autism & vaccine flyers in

trick-or-treat bags on Halloween... endless ways to spread this

news.....

Our voices ARE being heard! Even if they are hearing some of the

same voices (folks on the Hill are beginning to recognize my voice by

now, Oh' yes you're the one with the 2 kids from NY).....

ok. now to finish catching up on the other posts :o)

GIVING MERCURY TO CHILDREN ON PURPOSE IS STUPID!!!!!

Cheers, Barb L
