Guest guest
Hi Lynda, Can you tell me what the difference is between oriental rice and say the regular long grain, MJB or something similar? Also flax seed was suggested as an alternative to rice which also sounds interesting. Thank you very much for replying, Hansen-Hagler sh@... -----

Guest guest
- I really should have explained myself better! I get the long grain white rice from an oriental grocery, you can get 25 pound bags for next to nothing. That is why I get it there, it is so much cheaper than a regular grocery store. And the reason I don't use the flax seed is that eventually it goes rancid from the flax oil in the seeds. Gets to smelling awful, my husband made me throw my hot pack out that was made with flax seed, because of the smell. Some people use corn, also, and some people use wheat, which I don't use because of those people with wheat allergies. You will find that 1/4 cup herb mix in your hot pack (depending on the size, that is for a big one) is plenty, and the herbs will stay fragrant for a very long time.
