Guest guest
Hello friends, I am extremely anxious at the moment. My son had Comprehensive stool analysis/parasitology test recently.A part from the yeast and nasty blastocystis hominis ,the test indicated that there are citrobacter freundii 4+ ..dysbiotic folara. I discussed his test results with Dr H,he didn't emphasise the importance of this bacteria. He recommended Metrodinazole. When I looked at the lab.recommendation, this medicine is for blastocystis hominis not for the citorbacter.I searched the google and I was so frigtehened to read..It came up this bacteria is often associated with neonatal meningitis and brain abcess if it cross the blood brain barrier..That's what I understood. Dr H didn'tgive the priority of the treatment...Ten days ago I put my son on Ovex,I wasn't sure if he needed the treatment but dripping..I thought it wouldn't harm him,Dr H didn't recommend the second dose after 10 days if there wasn't any strong reasons which I am not sure.. According to the labs.recommnedation this bacteria is sensitive to caprylic acid, oregano and uva ursi as natural agents. It is also sensitive to the ceftriaxone drug treatment according to my search research. If I use caprylic acid, how long can it be safely used? I also ordered advanced biocidin from the Bio Botanical Research,Dr H ..agreed with this one but too many gut problems despite his daily intake probiotics. I sent a message to Dr H but I am thinking to take my son to the surgery.I would like to start eliminate this nasty bacteria without loosing any time but I don't know which way should I follow? Has anyone experienced with this citrobacter freundii before? I would appreciate if you share your thoughts, please. Thanks nevin
Guest guest
First off - don't worry! I had citrobacter in my CDSA too. Its bad bacteria which ideally shouldn't be overgrowing, but its more symptomatic than causative. Its the yeast which provides an environment in which good bacteria don't do well and bad bacteria thrive. Generally these things tend to be asymptomatic and are not a problem. Many viruses/bacteria which cross the blood brain barrier can do a lot of harm. The point is that this doesn't happen normally. Everyone has these nasties in their body - whether its the herpes virus, or bad bacteria in the gut. Remember E Coli is a natural and normal inhabitant of the gut. Whether you want to treat it is up to you. I personally wouldn't use antibiotics, although you may or may not want to use natural agents. Something like capryllic acid is fine and won't harm good flora, and can be used as often as you want. Personally I didn't go out of my way to treat the dysbiotic flora, which I see as mainly commensural with yeast, and not a problem in and of themselves. Hope that helps, . > > Hello friends, > > I am extremely anxious at the moment. My son had Comprehensive stool > analysis/parasitology test recently.A part from the yeast and nasty > blastocystis hominis ,the test indicated that there are citrobacter > freundii 4+ ..dysbiotic folara. > I discussed his test results with Dr H,he didn't emphasise the > importance of this bacteria. He recommended Metrodinazole. When I looked > at the lab.recommendation, this medicine is for blastocystis hominis > not for the citorbacter.I searched the google and I was so frigtehened > to read..It came up this bacteria is often associated with neonatal > meningitis and brain abcess if it cross the blood brain > barrier..That's what I understood. > Dr H didn'tgive the priority of the treatment...Ten days ago I put my > son on Ovex,I wasn't sure if he needed the treatment but dripping..I > thought it wouldn't harm him,Dr H didn't recommend the second dose > after 10 days if there wasn't any strong reasons which I am not sure.. > According to the labs.recommnedation this bacteria is sensitive to > caprylic acid, oregano and uva ursi as natural agents. It is also > sensitive to the ceftriaxone drug treatment according to my search > research. If I use caprylic acid, how long can it be safely used? > > I also ordered advanced biocidin from the Bio Botanical Research,Dr H > .agreed with this one but too many gut problems despite his daily > intake probiotics. > I sent a message to Dr H but I am thinking to take my son to the > surgery.I would like to start eliminate this nasty bacteria without > loosing any time but I don't know which way should I follow? > Has anyone experienced with this citrobacter freundii before? > I would appreciate if you share your thoughts, please. > Thanks > nevin >
Guest guest
---Hi , Thank you so much for your response.Last night when I read about meningitis connectionwith this bacteria,I felt terrible Today I found more information from my medical friends in abroad. They are saying that this bacteria in the stool is not bring the same concern if it is seen in the blood! (I hope it made sense,it's difficult to translate!)Dr Heard also stated that " in the absence of serious illness, C. freundii in the gut is a common finding of little concern; often correcting the imbalance of other organisms is enough to get rid of it. " So I feel a little better.I ordered the caprylic acid..but for the blasto hominis ..( this is the other one which we weren't successful to get rid of!) metradinazole is effective according to the lab's recommendation and Dr H.My son used it in the past,we may try it again. Once again, thank you. Warmly nevin

Have you had a control CDSA to see if the Citrobacter have left you, or at least " gone down " . Do you take the same attitude to Clostridia and Bacteroides, that they also will go down if you treat the yeasts use caprylic acid coconutmilk and fat ?? Or would you use antibiotics ?? No I can't justify the expense given I can feel whats wrong with my bowel (I still have dysbiosis). > Do you take the same attitude to Clostridia and Bacteroides, > that they also will go down if you treat the yeasts I don't want to give blanket advice. I would say it depends on the organism, and whether or not its causing any symptoms. Clostridia I would treat with S. Boulardii. > use caprylic acid > coconutmilk and fat ?? > Or would you use antibiotics ?? Personally I would try and avoid antibiotics if possible, but thats just my preference. Caprylic acid & coconut oil are great things and can be taken for many different health reasons, but they are unlikely to reach the bowel unless they are combined with a source of fibre (oils get absorbed early on in the GI tract). So either coconut itself (where the oil is naturally combined with fibre), or I'd mix it with some kind of fibre powder which kids can take. HTH, . Guest guest
Meningitis is inflammation of the meninges. Many bacteria or viruses can cause this but only if the immune system is so weak as to NOT be able to mount a defense against these pathogens. Improving the body's defense mechanisms is paramount. Or better still....as they say in American football jargon. Your Offense is the Best Defense!!! The gut plays an important role here. Concentrate on probiotics and fermented foods. i just came back from Germany where I saw a programme on home-made sauerkraut, a traditional fermented food. If your child can tolerate cabbage then finely slice cabbage (like coleslaw) layer it in a crock ( check for lead first :-))) and in between the layers, sprinkle salt. Entire salt content shouldn't be more than 1% of cabbage quantity. Leave this for a week or several weeks and start using it. It's a good source of Vit C also. They used it in the old days on ships to stave off the scurvy ( the Brits sued limes). This is a CHEAP, no additive way of getting the gut and immune system healthy.
