Guest guest
Hope you have a good attorney. I used one in Bedford and we filed in Dallas. She told me it was easier to get in Dallas than Fort Worth. But good luck, it took me 2 1/2 years!!!! I sure miss Texas.....my plan is to try to get back down there... but I can't live alone (don't make enough) and I have a dog AND I'm 52, which means I don't qualify for any type of senior housing. Amazing, you don't have the same benefits when you're on SSD as a regular senior who is drawing SS. I feel that a little unfair, once you go on SSD, I feel you should be allowed access to other, if not all, "senior" benefits. But that's just my opinion. Well, enjoy it down there, would give anything (except my dog!!!) to switch places with you!!!!Take Care, Lee Holbert <rlhintexas@...> wrote: Howdy Ma'am. I go to Euless daily. Part of my job. I'm trying to figure out how to get back. I'm on SSD for a list as long as your arm mainly fibro, sjogrens, and chronic back problems. I moved North because my family up here told me they'd help more (than my family down there). Questionable whether that's happened....and now I have an hours drive to doctors, down there I was 5 - 10 minutes from all my docs. What a mess for me!!!! But welcome, I don't write much (just wanted to talk to a fellow Texan!!!) but you'll learn a lot here, great group. Guest guest
Up here in Massachusetts, I think that folks on SSDI can get into Senior Housing, with those benefits. I know there had been hard feelings, as some drug addicts were also there, because of being on SSDI and the seniors felt unsafe. Might be worth checking out? and don't you have some services that are provlided on a sliding scale? eg as in Family Services and meals and housekeeping and such ah well. Life does go on, despite the 'challenges'... best to you all Jean Re: I am new/ H. Hope you have a good attorney. I used one in Bedford and we filed in Dallas.
