I'm sorry your bf is going through all of this. My DH snores like crazy and many people say he has sleep apnea. I don't know, I am just very thankful he works nights. I only have to deal with the snoring on the weekends.

Your bf seems to sleep a lot, has this been mentioned to the doctor? that is a lot of hours to sleep.

I wish you both the best of luck. Nothing any worse than health issues. Hang in there.

I think he told the doctor about his

tiredness not sure what he said about sleeping so much. I think they will

discuss things more in depth as soon as the blood work comes back. I know he

didn’t mention his constant headaches or short term memory loss. He does sleep

a lot and on the weekend will fall asleep while working at his desk or watching

tv with the kids. I would guess most weekends he is awake for maybe 6 hours a

day. Of course when he works he is often at work from 9am to 9pm and then

stays up working from home for another hour or so sometimes until midnight. So

he gets about 7 or 8 hours of sleep during weekdays and too much sleep on the

weekend. Thanks for the thoughts –I am nervous but excited to hear back the

results. I need him there for us!

That's wonderful news ! Be sure to let us know the results.

I read your previous post about your wonderful girls, and smiled at their independence in choosing the glittery earrings.

Have a great day,

Hugs, Kerry

I wanted to share with you a great triumph – my bf has finally gone to the doctor – his health has been an issue for several years and what we fight most over (he is always too tired to be useful to us, plus has headaches, back aches, pains etc all the time and catches every illness that goes around). Anyway the doctor sent him for blood work and they will discuss more when the results come back. The doctor is hesitant about sending him to a sleep study because he doesn’t fall asleep while driving (evidently the doctor says if you don’t fall asleep while driving being more tired when you wake up is not sleep apnea), but wants to take a look at other options first. He believes it is possible that he has diabetes and problems with his kidneys. Anyway 6 days and he gets to talk to the doctor again BTW the doctor doesn’t seem to think it is anything serious but to me it is – if a person’s health affects their life it is a problem. With any luck this won’t mean the doctor will give up if he doesn’t see any problems in the blood work. Basically I think the doctor feels if he loses weight the health problems will go away. In other words, my bf needs to get off his butt and he will feel better. But having the doctor say it may mean more than me saying it. Anyway I am the happiest women in the world. It is a start and that makes a difference. I’m not even upset that he went to bed at 4pm (very normal on days he is home he goes to sleep at 4pm, wakes at 9pm and goes back to sleep at 11pm and wakes up between 10 and noon unless jumped on by kids). Hopefully there will be some clear results and if not perhaps he will get off his butt and move!

I hope that he will be your new workout partner, ! Even just walking 30 minutes a day can significantly reduce one's chances of getting a heart attack! Let us know if he starts joining you on any of your workout videos!

I would love if he would do weight work

with me. I keep it all light because I’m afraid I will overdo it and get

stuck lol. And there is nothing sexier than a man lifting weights lol. Well any

type of exercise is great to watch – sure raises my heart rate even if it

does nothing for him lol. I don’t know if I’ve

mentioned this before but every 3 years or so he goes for a run and comes home

limping or in pain lol. He tries to jump in with both feet and wonders why he

crashes. I’m the opposite – I dip a toe in and then get wet and

then end up rarely getting tired and hurt – of course I also tend to stay

too long in the shallow water lol If we worked out together I think things

would be perfect – he would challenge me and I would keep him focused and

from trying too much. I’d love to do couples yoga with him too but I

doubt that would ever be his thing – well unless it in the privacy of the

bedroom “yoga” lol A partner would be great for tons of

exercises though. Oh well. I just hope he starts doing something! He still has

a lot of muscle tone, just has the beer gut to go along with it (well it should

be a burger and fries gut since he only drinks once a week lol) He reminds me

of the out of shape body builders you see. Walking for exercise is for

sissies in his opinion, men run and well he hurts himself when he runs, last

time he was only gone for 10 minutes. The doctor said he should bike to work,

but he wears 3 piece suits and work is about 30 minutes to 1 hour by bike away

and he often works from 8 or 9am to midnight – in any case it is after

8pm when he comes home and it is dark and the bike paths are not all the way to

work. I worry about him on the road with cars in the dark – a few people

in our area are injured or killed every week doing that. They keep trying

new stuff in the most dangerous areas but cars just don’t always pay

attention to bikes even in a biking country. It is mostly the curvy dark roads

where people get hit (usually cars going too fast) and I think there would be

at least one of those on his path to work. I would worry sick from the time he

left to go to work and the time he came home. I know he needs exercise

but there has to be something safer.
