Guest guest Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Hi does anyone get blood tests through their dr and if so what do you tell them? We need a CBC (complete blood count) and CMP ( metabolic profile) done every 3 months. A year ago we had these done at the RSCH in Brighton and they charged us £17. We had them done yesterday and they charged us £154! Apparently they have reviewed there prices - not half! Any advice would be very welcome Thanks Peta Quote
Guest guest Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Hi Peta, Our doc said she'd do them for me. She was quite willing to draw the bloods, and then give them to me to send or take to the labs. I'm currently under Heard, so they were happy to send me the kits from Breakspear to do this. I know a couple of people who's GP's are fine. Does your doc know you are doing biomed/chelating - if they're fine with that they're normally OK with taking bloods. So, I'm not much help sorry; but just to let you know there are some out there that will. I ended up taking Callum down to the lab for the draws (it was easier than getting the bloods done and then sending off, and it also was a lot fresher that way!). Good luck! Guest guest Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Hi Elaine Our dr does know we are chelating but he has said he doesn't want to know. Basically my paed is also the child protection officer for this area and she thinks that chelating/ B12 is a child protection issue ie social services. So because it is not mainstream my dr isn't telling my paed ( I lied to her) but he does not want to be involved in case he gets into trouble. I obviously need a new dr but I don't know anyone here who is doing the biomed stuff so I don't know of any dr's willing to listen. Last time I saw my dr he said he could no longer prescribe emla cream and I came out of the app feeling grateful that I wasn't being reported to SS! My paed won't listen at all so I told her there was no point in seeing her because she didn't want to help us at all. I couldn't face a battle with SS as well ( a friend of mine went through it - it is awful) Sorry I'm going on - am living in a bad area. I try to avoid paed's and dr's here but unfortunately I sometimes need them. It's like trying to argue with the CDC! I think the majority of dr's in this country are as responsible for the autism epidemic because they won't listen to parents - it's not their problem and they don't give a damn. What a sad world we live in! Rant rant! Peta - -- In Autism Treatment , <simondavis@...> wrote: > > Hi Peta, > Our doc said she'd do them for me. Guest guest Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Peta, Sorry to hear this - which DAN are you under? You could move to Cambridgeshire - seems to be some understanding GP's out here, who do actually have a set - iykwim;-) > Blood tests- help > > > > > > Hi does anyone get blood tests through their dr and if so what > do you > > > tell them? Guest guest Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Hi Elaine we are with Bradstreets clinic and it seems silly to pay for another DAN dr over here as well. I just still find it shocking that so many dr's are really not interested in helping our kids. Anyway I'm sure I'll sort something- I was trying to think of some believable lies to get the blood tests done.
