exercise with kids at home

I’ve been getting a ton of exercise now that my kids

are home. The girls have been practicing ballet with me and they aren’t

content to stick with plies and releves (I know that is spelled wrong, can

pronounce it but never seen it on paper lol) we have been doing plie jumps

(warm up with plie releve a couple of times, then instead of going to releve

position jump and lad back in the same position – it is harder than it

sounds and the girls want to jump about 100 times before they are tired, both

in first and second position) Plus we’ve been working on balancing

issues (arabasques and other ballet moves (which I won’t even try to

spell since I have butchered enough words for today) are great for this) and

doing yoga and jumping jacks and bike riding. No formal exercise lately for me

though – the tree is in my workout space. It does remind me long ago my

second workout tape (after the first Firm) was the Holiday

workout. Oh my goodness - saw it on amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Holiday-Workout-Joanie-Greggains/dp/6303816681

It was a relatively easy workout but the holiday tunes and cheesy humor

made it so fun for the holiday season. LOL Trip down memory lane, guess I

need more sleep.

Anyway totally off topic, but if anyone wants to see my

beautiful children you can go to: http://www.veeneman.info/xmas2006/

and see us at Christmas mostly the kids modeling clothes and

stuff they got for Christmas so feel free not to look (and I’m not really

sure how great the website is working lol – it was a quickie). Way down

at the bottom you could see me giving my youngest some presents –

horrible picture though and look like I weigh 200 pounds because my

sweater is huge and you only see the side of me lol I have to get away from

wearing bulky clothes – someone asked me if I was pregnant! And I wear a

size 6 pants. I just haven’t discovered the fashion secrets of

busty women with tiny waists who don’t want to show all their assets but

don’t want to look fat. LOL I might as well not have lost all my “baby

fat” no one but me can tell. Oh well

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (or holiday of your

choice) and has plans for a lovely safe New Years.

, your children are so beautiful! Thanks for sharing these very fun pictures! I want to check out that holiday workout too, sounds fun!

On the clothing issue... that's my problem too. I wear bulky clothes and no one realizes I'm as small as I am so I'm trying not to do that as much. I found a website (through Flylady), called www.missussmartypants.com. You can sign up for her to send you weekly emails with suggestions for fashions that fit your exact body type. I'm not much of a fashion person but found it very useful in learning to dress my newly smaller body and have more confidence finding clothes that look really flattering on me (now I just need the money to buy them). There is a charge for the service but I think it is like $9.95 for 3 months or something like that and the emails have links to the site where there's pictures of clothes she's found for your body type that week and those pictures have links to the stores selling them (mostly very reasonably priced stores). Anyway, you might want to have a look!

Hi , Thank you for sharing the pictures of your beautiful children with us. It was a gift to see them. By the way, i wonder what happens to old aerobics teachers - they seem to disappear from the screen -- i.e. Joanie Greggains, , Jane Fonda, et al. I’ve seen that site before but its

well US based. If I could go shopping in the US without kids I could find tons

of stuff that looks good and is suited to my daily life (I’m a SAHM,

skirts, dresses and fancy things are useless for me) I’m not fashion

blind nor am I particularly into fashion but I do know what looks good on me.

But I am a petite busty women in a land of tall flat chested women (really the

only women who have to wear a large shirt are women who are big) And I wont

give up my bulky coat for a fashionable not so warm one. The only people who

see me out of my coat are my children lol. Plus fashionable coats are

designed for fashionable figures which is hat is most commonly called the

athletic figure (which excludes those of us who are busty lol) Mom says I should

tuck my shirts in and wear a belt but even at size 6 I have a bit of a belly I

don’t like to show off too much. I like tailored shirts that hang right

over the waistline but of course impossible to find where I live and at this

point I’m not planning on a trip to the US for shopping. I hope next year

(2008) to go for the summer with the kids and leave the kids with a babysitter

(maybe my dad or grandparents or aunt) for a day of shopping. I keep hearing

that the bust shrinks as body fat is lowered but that hasn’t really

happened for me. But by then (assuming I am diligent and we don’t decide

to get pregnant) I should be at a size I like and want to maintain. Most

fashion people say women who are busty and skinny should get their clothes

tailored. Maybe after I put up a shed in the backyard, remodel both bathrooms

and my bedroom, buy a new bed for the kids and redo their play area I will take

the money to have my clothes made for me lol

I think my kids are beautiful too

and full of enough mischief for 8 kids. But thanks for saying so. I adore

taking pictures of the little rascals. We’ve started getting out the

camera when the littliest one starts throwing a fit because it makes her laugh.

I say oh yeah make that pouty face. Come on scream for the camera . Oh don’t

forget to throw yourself on the floor (or chair) and give me the I hate you

mommy look. And somewhere in there she starts laughing and gives me a hug

instead of a grouch.

I don't know about Joanie Greggains and , but Jane Fonda's gone back to acting. She played the title character in "Monster-in-Law", which came out either last year or the year before. Some of her old workouts have been re-released in DVD form, good for me because my old VHS tape of Light Aerobics and Stretching is on its last legs. I still use once in awhile, though.

By the way, i wonder what happens to old aerobics teachers - they seem to disappear from the screen -- i.e. Joanie Greggains, , Jane Fonda, et al.

Oh well, good luck finding what you want! :-)

Btw, I was (until reconstruction after breast cancer, then I had a reduction on my natural side too) a very busty, petite, size 6 gal and found my bust only decreased a little bit with a lot of weight loss. 40 lbs off since my highest weight several years ago seems to have brought me down some, but definitely not dramatically. Doesn't sound like you have much to lose so I'd doubt it would change you a whole lot either. Just my experience though, your mileage may vary.

I still sometimes use Jane Fonda's Low Impact Aerobic Workout - And it's still a good workout for easier days.
