Guest guest
Hi all 's best friend from school is very small and thin, unlilke who is a beefy boy. They look very cute together, however the other child's weight has fallen to the 2nd percentile and Mum is at the end of her teather. He stopped feeding when he was only a few weeks old, and Mum was told the usual Oh he will eat when he's hungry etc. Anyhow cut a long story short he ended up repeatedly in hospital on drips etc. and has pretty much survived on prescription milkshakes, he was diagnosed ASD quite early because of being in and out of hospital, he seems quite bright and interactive generally but did not talk until he started at the Special School aged 4, not a huge amount of speech but not as disordered as for example. Her GP has written to a number of people to ask for help but not much happening. He did eat for a while then stopped again. I know a few of you had this problem (Vicky) and she asked to ask you all what you did. I don't think she has done much biomed as the milkshakes are a life line in a way. I'm not convinced they have the funds for DAN or a trip to Texas and they might be wary of anything not mainstream.........but are there any referrals they can insist on or any suggestions of how to get the child to eat?
