Dear ,

Dr. Otto Warburg remarked over 30 years ago that anything that

caused a duct to plug up would result in hypoxia, and end up

with cells forced to ferment their sugar, resulting in cancer.

Anti-perspirants contain aluminum to prevent the release of sweat through

the normal channels (pores). This blocking action is

therefore very definitely implicated in breast cancer (along with tight bras

worn for too long).

Therefore, avoid anti-perspirants like the plague (they are).

It is the growth of bacteria on the skin that causes odor. This can

be addressed by using a deodorant stone, with potassium salts, which

prevents bacteria from growing. I have used one for seven years now, and

they are excellent. Make sure you get one that states it does NOT have

aluminum, because some do.

Best of Health!

Saul,

What is your opinion about anti-perspirants and lotions

that have a form of aluminum in them?

I tend to avoid them just to be safe.

Dear Colin,

Lately, there has been some backtracking on the

aluminum deposititon = Alzheimer's in favor of

mercury deposition = Alzheimer's.

Hi Dr. Saul,

Thank you very much for the offer! I'll look in my local health

store. The one I have (amazing Thai) says on the back that it

contains no aluminum, but the I read somewhere that it is made of

aluminum sulfate. The manufacturer says aluminum sulfate is not the

same as aluminum metal. This is true, but I still think it could be

bad since aluminum sulfate in solution seperates into Al and sulfate

ions

Best Wishes!

This is why I asked what brand in an earlier post. I have been using the

Thai crystal for several years. I actually preferred the spray over the

stone, but for some reason, it stopped working a few weeks ago. I have

tried two other natural brands that don't have aluminum in them, one with

tea tree oil, the other with peach extact, neither one works. I still

stink! I have the California Body Crystal, but don't have the label anymore

so don't know if it has aluminum in it or not. I would really like to find

something that works for me again. :-)

Any other suggestions?

I use a couple of different ones from aubrey that I buy cheaper at

www.vitamminshoppe.com I also stink. I eat alot of onions and my

underarms smells like onions. I dont use any at home. You get rid of

Evening Erma,

>>I eat alot of onions and my underarms smells like onions. I dont use

any at home. You get rid of toxins from your underarms....only use it when

I got out.

I eat lots of onions as well. I think we are supposed to smell of some

aroma.

That is how we make our insect repellant..... I think.

I have seen my uncle rub his hands under his armpits, and then

carefully, and slowly,

repel wasps on their nest, and actually pull the wasp nest from its

attachment and never get stung.

When I am in the woods and swamps, I don't get hardly any insects on me

such as red bugs and ticks, while others get many. I think it is due to

this natural insect repellant.

I just wanted to caution that even the " good " salts can be irritating to

some sensitive people. Discontinue use if you react badly to it.

I use something from Solutions-4-You company. It's called Ultra Safe Plus

and contains a patented germicidal ingredient called Lechenya Meera (this

may not be the correct spelling, but it's pretty close). S-4-Y makes pure

botanical cleaners (which work great, by the way), and the Lechenya Meera is

also extracted from plants. At a high enough concentration, Lechenya Meera

is even tubercucidal. That makes it great for use in bathrooms and hospitals

and any other place where you need to kill germs. The company has

microbiology reports and all the products are endorsed by a whole slew of

folks, including Hulda , a laboratory in the US (name escapes me at the

moment), and a professor from Penn State University (they did a study of

S-4-Y with fruit trees and found that it worked as an insecticide without

harming the plants). I use the Ultra Safe Plus under my arms because it's

the only thing that works. I do have to re-apply it sometimes during the

day, but when I'm less toxic I don't think I'll have to do it anymore. (It's

the bacteria and not the sweat per se that cause the smell.)

Call Tima at 800-301-9911 and ask for the small size of Ultra Safe Plus

to start. Make sure to tell him you want the cleaner with Lechenya Meera in

it and that I sent you. Yes, it's a commission company, but their

commissions are unusually generous and that's not why I'm telling you about

it. I've searched long and hard for non-poisonous ingredients in everything

from food to personal care products to cleaners, and as I'm sure you know it

requires not only that you read labels like a hawk, but knowledge of this

country's labeling laws as well as chemistry is a definite plus. Substitutes

for detergents, soaps, and toothpaste are easy to find compared to

replacements for deodorants.

Those of you who are interested in this sort of thing can read my two-part

article called " The Politics of Poison that appeared in the Feb/March and

April/May issues of Nexus magazine last year. The article is greatly

abridged, and there are some errors in it partly due to the condensation;

but the piece will give you an idea of the kinds of psychological ploys that

companies pull when they want you to buy their poisonous chemicals. (By the

way, legally the word " non-toxic " does NOT mean " non-poisonous. " It means

that only half the laboratory animals tested on the item died, instead of

all of them!)

Another option for deodorant is Colloidal Silver, though I find that I like

the Ultra Safe Plus better because it " sticks " to the skin more.

Let me know if you need any more help.

I worked in a factory on an assembly line for 30 yrs (then I was able to

retire).

If I forgot my deordorant, it just didn't matter because I NEVER had BO.

Then I discovered cleansing the body from inside out about 6 yrs ago.

The more I do the more BO I have (I gave up traditional antiperspiants).

Many times I SCRUB my underarms and still have terrible ordor.

I have a draw FULL of things that do not work. I need something new.

Treat the insides.

If a person is a real stinker, they should try

zinc ( " Take zinc, don't stink " ), and even try

some liquid chlorophyll or some good chlorophyll

source product. Wash daily with Ivory soap,

my favorite (and I've never had an odor problem

according to the wife). Just a few suggestions.

Also, the best laundry detergent is the Arm

and Hammer baking soda detergent. It's cheap too.

Re: Antiperspirants

Hi Dr.
