You may remember I wrote to SBC back in Feb as a result of his

posting on the Aspies for Freedom site.

I enclosed a copy of Philip's test results asking for his comments

on why so many children with autism have similar metabolic profiles

and asking what he, as an eminent Researcher, was going to do to

investigate further.

His response is below:

Dear Zoe

Thank you for your letter of 28th February. Apologies for the delay

in writing but I have been away. I think it is very important that

your son had metabolic tests. These are very rarely conducted in

people with autism and indeed there is not enough research into

metabolic disorders that might be causing and exacerbating the

condition. We are just beginning such a comprehensive study of all

proteins in the body with our collaborator, Dr Sabine Bahn. The

results will not be available until 2007. Our study will be

conducted on several hundred individuals, since you will appreciate

that reports on one individual cannot tell us much about whether the

patterns fit the wider group.

Anybody got test results on their kids that I can send to him to

show him its not just my son who has metabolic problems?
