Guest guest
To all at , I am preparing a SSDI case for a hearing and I wonder if any of you have had personal experience in a " consultative medical exam " (where SSDI sends you to their doctor). Was this doctor knowledgeable about CMT? Did this doctor do any additional testing of any kind? (including Xrays, etc) Were you asked some " wacky " questions like " what are the differences between apples and oranges " or " would you please count backwards from 100 by 7's? Were you emotionally distraught at this exam because the doctor didn't know CMT or take any of your medical history into consideration? Did you specifically ask for a doctor who knew peripheral neuropathy or specifically CMT? Was this doctor 'exam' held in another part of your town you do not ordinarily visit? Did you feel threatened, intimidated or frightened at this consultative exam? And for anyone who has been on SSDI for awhile, if, after you completed a Continuing Disability Review successfully, were you ever sent for a 'consultative medical exam' later Thanks for any feedback you can give me. ~ Gretchen
