Guest guest
I have backed off on my salt intake. Doing that and taking the beta-blockers is somewhat taking care of the hypertension. I still have BP flares. I seem to be fighting a lot of fatigue lately. I need to check potassium level which I haven't done yet. Is it possible for me to have PA and beta-blockers work a little? Guest guest
Did they check K useing these gidelines. Grim's Guide to True Blood K 1. Best to ask for a plasma K as when blood clots the platelets ruputure and the serum K goes up. 2. Don't squeeze you hand or pump it this will increase it up to 2. 3. Don't hyperventilate-this will falsely lower it. in 30 seconds 4. Dont let them draw blood with the tourniquet on as this will falsely increase it. 5. Tell them to process blood immediately as letting it sit will increase the K in the tube but is is low in the blood in your body. 6. Eating before blood is drawn can incease it. Depending on what you eat. 7. Dont get acute leukemia with very high wbc counts and let blood sit. The will take up the K and give a pseudo hypokalemia. 8. Dont measure right after taking too much insulin-it will be low. May have left some out. Others can fill in. Guest guest
You are amazing. There is so much to think about when doing these tests. To be honest I went to my vet clinic pricked my finger got enough blood to run the test and ran it. By the info you put in your reply those readings I got are bogus. I have a lot to learn. Guest guest
Because they have hard time getting my blood I don't feel that I know what my true K is. It has been 3.2. Many times I am asked to pump my fist and they leave the tourniquet on. I do know what the fatigue is like. I have been going through it for 4 years still don't know if I have PA. There is a lot of information in the files and the links. > > > > > > > I just got in - walking up the stairs I feel exhausted, legs are > > > > weak and bp was 154/99 so I don't know what is going on. Guest guest
I totally agree. I think there are some clues that Dr. Grim might see that most doctors just bypass because this is such a rare syndrome. I love the comment made by one of 's doctors from New Zealand this is as rare as rockin horse poo - too funny. For me even as a patient having the symptoms I do and learning all this stuff from this group I want them to investigate further and right now we have moved on to something else already. I may not have PA but I want to make sure before I totally cross it off the list. It will be a good discussion topic for my doc and myself next week. Guest guest
I may not be that rare. But if they don't look for it then they don't find it. Even when they find the tumor they still don't look for it. I am the same way I may not have PA but it needs to be crossed off the list. I was tested on both diuretics and bata blockers at two different Medicical Centers. The tests by there standards don't show PA. From the test results and and other information I have posted Dr Grim would suspect I have PA. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I just got in - walking up the stairs I feel > > > exhausted, > > > > > legs > > > > > > > are > > > > > > > > > > > weak and bp was 154/99 so I don't know what is going > > > on. > > > > > Has > > > > > > > this > > > > > > > > > > > happened to any of you?
