Greetings:

asked a while back if anyone else had positive effects from Vitamin C. I

think I have, but it is hard to say, as Vitamin C is

only one of several lifestyle changes I have implemented to improve my CMT.

I take at least 6 or 7,000 mg. of Vitamin C daily. I also take Co

Enzyme Q10. Alpha Lipoic Acid, Selenium, and a B complex vitamin. Since I

began taking all these vitamins, I have plenty of energy, rarely get sick (knock

on wood), and I feel like my endurance and balance have improved some.

However, in addition to the above changes, I work out at a gym 3-4

times a week doing water aerobics, elliptical trainer, treadmill and

occasionally pilates. I've been doing water aerobics and deep water

exercise for about two months and noticed beneficial results within a week of

beginning. I feel like I may be getting more muscle in my calves and I can walk

faster and further without feeling like my feet are flopping/dropping. I can

now keep up with most other people's gaits... It used to be that I could walk

100-200 feet and then my feet would start flopping and getting tired; I feel as

if I can walk further now without this happening.

I've also been attending Healing Touch or " energy " healing for the

past few years and, while it's been slow, I've noticed definite changes from

this (I can feel feelings in my toes/legs that I could not feel prior to the

sessions.

I do still notice a foot drop at times, I still can't stand on my

toes and have some balance problems, but I do feel like my CMT has improved

quite a bit... How much of it is the Vitamin C, how much is the exercise and

how much is the Healing Touch sessions I attend, I couldn't tell you.

The tough thing is that, while I can look back and compare to now

and notice definite improvements, they've been slow enough, accumulating over

time, that they're some times hard to define. I do know that I don't get nearly

as stressed out having to park far from a store or do a lot of walking in

public, as I used to... I look forward to the day when my improvements are so

noticeable that I can go back to my jerk of a neurologist (who practically

laughed when I told him about Vitamin C), and gloat.

I can say that the other day I had enough energy after water aerobics to take a

one mile trail walk. And on that walk, I didn't have to

constantly pay attention to my feet - they moved pretty quickly on their own!

I'd love to hear any other positive experiences.

Peace, :) Marti
