It helped when I bought a rewinder (less than $10.00) and put it on the table next to the TV and showed him how to insert it and start it. He could see it doing something and it finally dawned on him that he could control this by taking it out when it was finished and the fussing abated. It is worth a try. Guest guest
Hi, I used to have the same problem about rewinding videos when Darius was younger. But recently a new problem... he insists on watching the vidoes in fast forward speed. Nobody else can watch television with him. Guest guest
I know this sounds like an expensive alternative but since I bought a DVD player, I don't have the rewinding or the fastforward issues anymore. My son has learned how to operate it all by himself and he's completely independent with using it, he's even learn to clean the recorded side by wiping it on his shirt before inserting it, whew! Guest guest
Yes, we have a combo machine. Haven't done anything about all the old VHS video tapes he has. Sometimes he still plays his old videos and seems content and patient to deal with the older format but definitely prefers the DVDs. Maybe there's a service out there that converts inexpensively?? I'll try poking around and if I find something I'll post it.
Guest guest
But where do you begin? We have dozens and dozens of VHS videos and would have to buy many DVDs (ebay of course). Did you get a combo DVD/VHS to start? The DVD movies are twice the price of VHS, so we cannot do it just yet.
