Guest guest
Thanks for the reassuring posts about . I feel a little less anxious about it this morning. I *did* read some about aspergers and autism and I still can't see enough to make me think he has either. I still lean more toward thinking he has OCD, but I'm going to send in a note to the psych on Wednesday (when he meets ) to mention my cousin wondered and to ask him to keep an eye out. But seems to be too involved with his buddie and me. I suspect his difficulty breaking away from Nintendo when his buddies want to do other things has to do more with OCD than autism. Now my daughter has some trouble with loud sounds (clapping, fireworks, etc.), so I could possibly see something more than just anxiety there, but she's handling things well right now so - as they used to say in ACoA & AL-ANON - " It it's not broke, don't fix it. " I'll focus on right now & just be available if ever needs more help. I told my mom that we would probably continue with this psych (even if he *does* go off our plan & we have to pay more) if takes a liking to him and opens up. Mom said children are resilient, though, and she thinks it'd be o.k. to switch to someone else on the plan if that happened. My cousin said, " Not *our* children, " and I sort-of lean toward her way of thinking. I think it'd be very hard for a child to have to start all over on the trust issue. But...we'll cross that bridge when we come to it - which will probably be fairly soon since he told me everyone is " fleeing " from our plan (UBH). -Jean P.S. gave me my mother's day presents this morning and then he spent a long time just cuddling with me in the recliner. I am *so* blessed to have two wonderful, loving children (and a great husband, too). A house in our neighborhood burned to the ground a few weeks ago, too, so I'd bestnot forget how fortunate I am to have a roof over my head, too. :-)
