Guest guest
Hi Nikki, Snapping rubber bands is not fashionable anymore with regard to " bad thoughts " OCD. Instead, try satiation-based exposure (I posted ad nauseum about this sometime ago, if you can search the archives). Basically, needs to face her bad thoughts, recognize them as OCD, not herself, think about them on purpose until they become boring and silly. When she keeps trying to fend them off, they become more important and meaningful. Since you are pros at ERP, design a heirarchy of bad thoughts, and have her think them on purpose, write them, say them out loud, tell them to others, etc, without slapping her cheek or doing anything else to make them go away. Soon she will habituate and it will all be over! Seen it happen again and again.... Keep us posted. Aureen Wagner
