Guest guest
Hi Helen, I started with Bio-Kult on my then 2 year old son. (1/2 a capsule in the am) we also used Super Nu Thera and bio-acidophilus when he was two with no adverse effects, I'm sure they are fine for a 4 year old. I think with things as benign as probios if they say it's for adults then it's to cover their backs for legal reasons. Even medications given to children on the NHS are not approved for children - it isn't ethical to test on children so they aren't approved for them. Guest guest
I typically recommend Essential1: Digestive Health as it has acidophilis, bifidus, lactobacillus bulgaricus, and FOS. The benefits to our patients (according to them) include reduced gassiness, relief of/assistance with constipation/diarrhea, better lactose tolerance (because this product also comes with a digestive enzyme)............. and of course a better balanced gut flora helps support immune function.Hope this helps!Tammy Hutchisen RD, LDN, C-PTMid-land BariatricsFrederick, MDFrom: Bizzarro, A Civ USAF AFMC 88 DTS/SGQD <melissa.bizzarro@...>Subject: probiotics Date: Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 2:49 PM Hello all, Is anyone recommending their patients take probiotics after their surgery? Guest guest
MRProbiotics is a hot topic. We spent a whole morning at the last conf in London talking about tit. You can see patents being on the works now : http://www.freshpatents.com/-dt20100610ptan20100143305.php?type=claimshttp://www.nutraingredients.com/Research/Probiotic-bacteria-may-stop-HIV-infection Probitics keep your immune system from being activated by waste product from the gut. They also help produce B vitamins for our bodies. They also help digest certain sugars for us to absorb better. They may protect against immune senesense caused by immune activation due to waste product leakage into our blood. There is a study being done to study this:http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00536848 On Tue, Dec 7, 2010 at 10:30 AM, Matt <grm449@...> wrote: Hello.
