E.D.F. stands for Elongation, Derotation, & Flexation, it's a term

they used for their 3 demensional technique of casting & correcting

scoliosis patients. There's a study on it in the Files section here

if I'm not mistaken? It's very interesting! And AMIL frame is the

name that Shellie used for the frame Mehta patients (and probably

others) are being casted on enabling them to incorporate this

technique into the casting procedure.

Mosunshinebaby pretty much summed it up, EDF is the Mehta casting technique. I always call it a mehta cast, but technically I guess it is really called and EDF cast?

THANKS SO MUCH- That, believe it or not,, really helps me understand a lot of the research I have been putting together. I truly appreciated your answer and I'd love you to send me the file thru email: basketsnboyds@... Good luck w/your child-I've tried to look back through the posts to see what you're faced with- I see your child has infantile idiopathic (not congenital) and you'll be seeing Shriners in SLC shortly? Good luck with everything-Sounds like you're becoming well informed- I've been trying EVERY day to familiarize myself with research and terms but haven't done as well as you-I'd love that file when you have a spare minute. thanks in advance. -Evan's Mommosunshinebaby <mosunshinebaby@...> wrote: I have E.D.F. in file format too if you want me to send it via e-mail!> >> > What is E.D.F?> > What is a AMIL frame? > > > > Thanks!>

Yes, I'm thankful to finally be getting it all too! My daughter in 15 mos. w/a 50 deegree left lumbar curve (yeah idio), I so pray the outcome is successful too! We'll know for sure whether we're seeing a Dr. in SLC by the end of today or tomorrow. I'm need to go over some things w/our Ortho here, I'm pretty sure they're doing the same thing there so it might not be neccessary to travel for her casting which I'm thankful for too, but we'll see. I e-mailed you the file before I responded here so you should have it by now.. Thanks for the wishes too, take care! > > >> > > What is E.D.F?> > > What is a AMIL frame? > > > > > > Thanks!> > > > > > > > > Evan's Mom 8/7/05> > > > > > P.S.- Went for his x-ray today for a FU to RLL Pneumonia and it > has > > > cleared up!> > >> >> > > > > > >

I just wanted to a valueable asset known to all new parents of the group. I have noticed questions recently regarding certain definitions or terms, please visit the ISOP web site. http://www.infantilescoliosis.org/terms.htm This web site was developed to help answer questions and make it easier to locate research items. This could help save you a lot of time. <basketsnboyds@...> wrote: THANKS SO MUCH- That, believe it or not,, really helps me understand a lot of the research I have been putting together.
