Guest guest
Can anyone here give me a good idea of pricing (per pound or gallon) on the following items and who you get them through? Just so that I have a general idea of whether I am getting half way reasonable pricing or just need to keep looking for suppliers... All of these items, but one, I have to order online or through an out of state distributor, and I know that there are ALOT of companies out there, and it is hard to check them all. Guest guest
Ann, I do alot of purchasing from the following. http://addy.com/brinkley/index.htm EO's mostly. links some FO's to www.sweetcakes.com when you click on them. www.glorybee.com coconut, palm some EO's www.cambengrey.com carrier oils, shea butter http://craftexpress.com/ botanicals, kelp etc. I just looked this addy up and looks like their prices have gone up about 25%. May be able to find cheaper supplier then this. There prices were way below others so even with the price hike they may still be. www.soapmaking.homestead.com this is a price comparison site that I think is probably not yet up to date. But will give you some great sources. Enjoy. Shery D -- Supplies Question Can anyone here give me a good idea of pricing (per pound or gallon) on the following items and who you get them through? Guest guest
I use www.from-nature-with-love.com <http://www.from-nature-with-love.com> and www.wholesuppliesplus.com <http://www.wholesuppliesplus.com> for almost everything I order. They both have great items and good prices! Supplies Question Can anyone here give me a good idea of pricing (per pound or gallon) on the following items and who you get them through? Guest guest
I would suggest Planet Herbs for the Lavender buds. They've got the best prices I've found so far. $6.95 per pound. www.planetherbs.net ~^~^~Dawn~^~^~ MorningStar Creations
Guest guest
That is a great supplier. While some of the items I can get cheaper through my other sources, there are a lot of that are better prices than I get currently. Thank you for the suggestion! Guest guest
Hi Autumn, I buy different supplies from different places to get the best prices. No one co. has everything I need. Plus I'm always looking for a better deal for quality products unless I find one that I just can't live without. The closer to your neck of the woods the better for shipping costs, but that is sometimes impossible and one must bite the bullet in this craft since it's hard for me to find most things locally for better prices than online. I live an hr away from the nearest big city and even then can't find what I need most often. My suggestion is go to your favorite search and just type in what you're looking for and filter through all the hits till you find one you like. I'll share some of my links if you're interested, but then again, your search may find a better deal. Let us know what you're looking for and maybe someone here can help. Guest guest
I agree...I have a folder entitled 'regular suppliers' and one called 'sometime suppliers'(with what I usually get from them) and a 3rd one entitled 'New Suppliers to Try'. I am constantly researching and moving links around and deleting others. It's a never ending process and every soaper/craftperson has her or his favorites for different products. If you ask about specific products, like Pam said, you will probably get more suggestions than you can process. After awhile, you begin to notice which sites are best for you. And they will sometimes surprise you. I'm in search of ground pumice and the best price I've found is at a site that, while wonderful, is usually more expensive than most others. So, you have to check everytime you want something new and periodically later to compare for deals and sales. It's time consuming but I truly believe that your profit is made on the front end as well as what you get after the product is made.
