Jeavons will be giving a One-Day GROW BIOINTENSIVESM Sustainable

Mini-Farming Workshop at the University of Minnesota, St. Campus

Student Center, Theater, 2017 Buford Ave., St. , Minnesota on

April 3, 2007. This will be an exciting opportunity for in-depth

learning of Biointnesive philosophy and techniques, developed over

the past 35 years. GROW BIOINTENSIVE Sustainable Mini-Farming makes

high " Green Revolution " -type yields possible organically, while using

just a fraction of the water, fertilizer and energy resources, and

open-pollinated seeds. The presenter of the workshop will be

Jeavons, Director of Ecology Action and author of the best-selling

book How to Grow More Vegetables, Fruits, Nuts, Berries, Grains and

Other Crops Than You Ever Thought Possible On Less Land Than You Can

Imagine, (which is now in its newly published seventh edition and has

been translated into eight languages, including Braille).

GROW BIOINTENSIVE Workshops have been attended by people

from many different states and countries and as well as by people

from all walks of life-farmers, gardeners, teachers, and

representatives of large and small organizations.

The Tuesday workshop will consist of lectures, discussion

and demonstration, and will include a full range of information on:

Soil Preparation, Sustainable Soil Fertility, Fertilization, Compost,

Compost Crops, Efficient Resource Use, Crops for Full Nutrition and

Crops for Income, as well as the perspective and whole-system

approach with which to tie all these topics together. The workshop

will be fun as well as instructive and a unique chance to network and

meet others who have a similar interest in sustainable food raising

and living. For full details and application forms, see

www.johnjeavons.info.

Based on scientific principles and successfully tested

agricultural techniques which are thousands of years old, GROW

BIOINTENSIVE is a higher-yielding, resource-conserving method of

growing food that has proven its effectiveness around the world.

These techniques can be the first step towards achieving food self-

sufficiency while living more gently on the Earth. In a world with

decreasing soil productivity and increasing population, this

efficient food-raising approach, which works with nature, is being

used by more and more people.
