Marge,

How fascinating! You may have hit the nail on the head, so to speak. While

I am not entirely sure what specific meaning grounding may have in

aromatherapy, I do understand the general meaning. These past couple of

months I have been emerging from a depression (some friends and family were

getting worried that I was not going to emerge from it) after a period of

deep deep mourning and, oddly enough, I have been out buying area rugs, throw

rugs, and flooring to go over the perfectly good carpet and flooring already

in place. If someone can benefit from a certain aroma, does it necessarily

follow that they will like the scent? Thank you for the information. I

appreciate it and you.

Sage,

Here is a nice site with great descriptions of oils.

www.turbosales.com/essentialoil/descript.html

I myself am not overly fond of Patcholi or ylang ylang for that matter.

Sounds like your body is picking up on something in there that it is

attracted to.

Patchouli is said to mix well with:

vertiver, sandalwood, cederwood, geranium, clove, lavender, rose, neroli,

bergamot and clary sage.

Patchouli is a top note.

Vitiver is said to mix well with:

sandalwood, jasmine, patchouli, lavender, clary sage, mimosa and ylang ylang

Vetiver is a base note.

Maybe this will help find the perfect fit for you.

SD,

Thanks for the info. I have many of the oils you mention, I guess it is time

for me to start learning to mix. I went to the site you mentioned

www.turbosales.com/essentialoil/descript.html

but just found a business about increasing web sales??

Patchouli is classified as a base note, due to its slower evaporation rate.

It is an excellent fixative for this reason.

Here are some excellent sites for essential oil information without the

spam:

Sage,

That addy was printed on the bottom of the page I printed from their site.

And you are right it doesn't give you anything to do with EO's.

Here is another that may be as good.

http://www.ashburys.com/exp_oils_detailed.html

This I copied and pasted so should work.

Also: www.libertynatural.com/database/oils.htm

For scent blends try:

http://pinemeadows.net/recipes.php

www.thesage.com blends of products they sell. Some are FO's.

http://inspirit.com.au/soapweb/recipes/oilblends/oilblends.htm

http://rainbowmeadow.com/scentblends.html

http://accessnewage.com/aroma/essentialoilblends.cfm

http://wwhttp://accessnewage.com/aroma/essentialoilblends.cfmw.alert-alive

bc.ca/page5.html

Hope this gives you some ideas. I do alot of reading and printing but

sometimes I forget to paste the address in the Work's document. So I have

alot of info that I didn't realize I would ever share.

In double checking the papers I have printed directly from sites, www

mbspirit.com/oils.htm does list Patchouli as a top note while www

naturesgift.com/chords.htm lists it as a bottom note. I will look into this

for myself sometime just to know for sure.
