Home " WKRN Nashville http://www.wkrn.com/nashville/news/black-mold-consumes-wilson-co-home It seems simple enough to most people; get a great deal on an older home and then use a little sweat equity to make it into a dream home, but it could turn into a nightmare. One County family that bought their dream house, or so they thought. They thought they were buying a 160 year old fixer upper. " We knew it was going to take some work, and we were ready to do some work, " said Sickler. and Tracey Sickler said that the wood on their home, now covered with mold, didn't look like that back in January. They contend someone was wiping the walls with bleach to cover up black toxic mold. Now, the... ....Sickler's are living with the home's previous owner, who just happens to live next door however the family is running out of patience. " We went back and looked at the paperwork that Mr. had done on the disclosure. And it ask to the seller, 'Do you know of any existing or preexisting mold conditions within the home', and he checked no, " said Tracey Sickler. Jay Chesley Real Estate brokered the deal, but the agent, Benny was an independent contractor for the realtor and has since moved to Arkansas. " As far as saying its all Mr. 's problem, I don't know that. Legally I don't know what the situation mightbe, " said Jay Chesley. He said he tried to work with the Sicklers and even got a microbiologist to investigate the mold. The Sicklers said they just want their dream to be realized, and a healthy environment to raise their children. In the meantime, the Sickler's will be guests in then house next door to their dream. The Sicklers had friends in the home renovation business walk through the home before they signed the deal, but they never found any evidence of mold. Black mold can pose serious health risks to people living in homes overrun by it.
