Guest guest
All compound leg exercises like lunges and squats work both quads and hamstrings to a degree. If you have access to a leg press, placing your feet high on the plate targets the hamstrings and glutes. With lunges, a smaller step forward makes it work mostly quads and a great big step forward, especially with a pause and contraction, targets hamstrings and glutes. Step-ups onto a tall (knee-high) bench get hamstrings and glutes involved as well as quads. I haven't tried these stability ball leg curls, but I have done the single-leg bench curls and they're surprisingly effective: http://www.bodyresults.com/E2Hamstrings.asp You could also do hyperextensions if you have the right bench: http://exrx.net/WeightExercises/Hamstrings/BBHyperextension.html Some people do good mornings, but those are a little iffy for me because of my back: http://exrx.net/WeightExercises/Hamstrings/BBGoodMorning.html On Wed, 22 Dec 2004 13:55:15 -0000, <goheen@...> wrote: > > > I have lunges down for quads so I will continuing to search.. thanks > for the idea!! Guest guest
, thanks for the links... I was on their sites this morning but will go back to them this afternoon.... I am not comfortable with the good morning ones but hopefully in time I will find the confidence... The one you mentioned with the leg press (feet positioned higher) was the one I was wondering about.... I was thinking about choosing that one... will go to that site and check into it a little more!! Thanks!
