Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for writing.... Pakistan as you may have some ideas, is a poor country. Governments are corrupt, no matter who comes and goes, people are living below poverty line. There is nothing such as 'health care', or health insurance like in USA or other western countries. Here, if you are poor and have get into some sort of serious health problem, most likely you'll die miserably in pain... Majority are poor and health cost is very high. As I said, my younger brother is facing 'advance renal failure' and only solution we have been told is kidney transplant... we are worried sick as we are not sure we can afford his kidney transplant... unless there is a miracle... we are praying for it by the way... [moderator note: portions were deleted] Dear heather, its upto you entirely if you wish to delete me, or let other people hear me what I have to say... I am just being honest.... Please take care.... Guest guest
Jafar, I understand you want to be honest, and I applaud that. However, I do not allow requests for financial help on this list. There are many reasons for this, most of which are to protect the members from people who may wish to prey upon caring individuals for their own financial gain. Now please don't take this to mean I'm accusing you of that, not at all....just that I have to protect everyone here. We are good at gathering information and possible ties to finanical sources, but it cannot come directly from any group member, nor can you request any money from them. Support is the biggest thing we can offer you, as I'm sure this is a very hard situation for you and your family. I will look around to see if I can come up with any kind of charities that might help, or anything that could get your brother the help he needs, but please understand that you can't ask the members for money. I am very empathetic to your situation, but if you ask for money here, I will have no other choice but to delete the post, and I don't want to have to do that. Let me do some searching for you. Also, I need to know if you both live in Pakistan. This will be a huge help in finding resources. Guest guest
Hi ... Thanks for your concern and response. I was responding to your other mail some time ago and the computer had to freeze or something... I will respond to your mail. Yes, I am honest in what we are talking about here... [moderator note: portions of the message deleted] Anyhow.... Yes, we are both in Pakistan...(city - Lahore) Akhtar's both kidnies are 'shrunk' and are functioning only 25% or little less. So, both his kidnies would have to be taken out, and presumably one healthy kidney would be put in. He would travel to USA or any place for the transplant if visa and resources are provided/available for the purpose. I do understand however that cost in USA would be very very high as compared to here in Pakistan which is less than US$8000. So the basic idea and purpose is to try and give him a healthy life with healthy functioning kidney so that he can live longer than he would with sick malfunctioning kidnies. However we can get this done, doesn't really matter... here in Pakistan, or anywhere in the world. Dear , I do appreciate your concern and attention. Take care.... Guest guest
Jafar, Perhaps we're having a communication problem here. I'm willing to help you find resources, and you're more than welcome to talk about your feelings surrounding this, but please do not mention financial issues any more. I think maybe I haven't made it clear, but this is not the place to look for money. I am doing my best to help you find resources and financial aid, but from now on lets just keep the financial aspect out of it. I do care about your situation, and if it were me I can only imagine how I'd feel. But I do have to draw the line here as the owner of the group and say we just can't talk any more about the financial aspect. As far as the financial aid resources I am trying to find for you, we will email privately about that. I hope you understand, and I really don't want to have to start rejecting your emails, so far I've been editing them. Re: Kidney Trans > Hi ... > Thanks for your concern and response.
