Cholestyramine - side effects

Someone said they wondered if people were dissing Cholestyramine had

an agenda, so found this. Apparently it is usually well tolerated

but some people do have problems with it and here are some side

effects. Listed amoung them includes vomiting which was my problem

and it is listed oddly enough under 'rare' and also under 'common'.

Rare

Black, tarry stools; stomach pain (severe) with nausea and

vomiting

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following

side effects occur:

More common

Constipation

Rare

Loss of weight (sudden)

Other side effects may occur that usually do not need medical

attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your

body adjusts to the medicine. However, check with your doctor if any

of the following side effects continue or are bothersome:

More common

Heartburn or indigestion; nausea or vomiting; stomach pain

Less common

Belching; bloating; diarrhea; dizziness; headache

Other side effects not listed above may also occur in some patients.
