The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (U.S. EPAs) new Web

course, designed primarily for environmental and public health

professionals, contains information on prevention and remediation.

Building managers, custodians, remediators, contractors, and other

professionals who respond to mold problems may also find it useful.

Based on U.S. EPAs voluntary guidance document Mold Remediation in

Schools and Commercial Buildings, the course provides on overview of

U.S. EPA guidance on mold prevention and mold remediation/cleanup.

It covers basic issues related to moisture and mold control and is

illustrated with photos showing moisture and mold situations in the

field. The knowledge tests are designed to highlight and reinforce

important points in the course.

The course also includes an Image Library. Mold and moisture photos,

as well as text from the course, may be used without permission for

presentations and educational purposes.

The course is free and available to everyone. U.S. EPA will not

provide a certificate, certification, or any other credential for

viewing the course; it is for informational purposes only. Some

organizations, however, may choose to offer continuing-education

credits (CEUs) for completion of the course. U.S. EPA does not track

test results or provide the information to any other party.

For more information about this new educational opportunity, please

visit www.epa.gov/mold.
