Guest guest
I think the answer is in your statement.....it was a choice and I could have made better choices. You have proven to yourself that the lifestyle definitely works, but you for your own deeper reasons don't believe you can maintain it. Being without a kitchen is rough, I move with my husband on business about every 6-8 months so I relate to not living with a kitchen. When you are finished with a challenge do you gradually increase calories again? This is not a program you just go on and off like a diet as I am sure you have figured out by now. Please don't beat yourself up, now is the time to nurture yourself and stay open to the statements you tell yourself to justify your poor choices. I have found that keeping a journal and staying in touch with support is essential to success. By finishing a challenge and shutting off to the world of fitness you are putting yourself into denial. Maintenance is every bit as important a program as the challenge itself. I too have been at both sizes you have and totally understand that deep sense of personal despair when you are at the high end. You can get back up on the horse, but this time you can also dedicate more time to learning about yourself and how to live at a weight and size that makes you feel great. This is an emotional issue that needs to be dealt with at that level, not just diet and exercise. You can do this, and it can begin right now, by loving yourself enough to learn what you can do to change how you deal with your feelings. You made the right decision to join the board again, so you are off to a great start!! Weal keeping it a lifestyle... I'm fat again I am so disappointed in myself again. This is the third time I lost and got down to a tight 8 and then ballooned back up into a tight 14. How do you oldtimers do it keep this a lifestyle and not revert back to bad eating habits. I was without a kitchen for several months and gained 30 pounds. It was a choice I could have made better choices but here I am again. Fat, depressed and feeling lost. Guest guest
Like you said, it's about choices. I don't like feeling nasty after eating a greasy burger or whatever. Make the choice not to buy the junk food -- keep only healthy food around, and that will help. Good luck, Jen B > > I am so disappointed in myself again. Guest guest
When you get back down to the 8s, throw away or give away every single piece of clothing you have in larger sizes. As hard as it may be. Then you are truly making a mental committment tostay that size, unless you want to shell out for more clothes or go to work in sweats al the time. As soon as I get down to 10s, I'm giving away EVERYTHING, even if it means having a more limited wardrobe until my size 10 wardrobe grows over time. If you can't do that, it's because you haven't truly committed to stay that way. stephanie > > > > I am so disappointed in myself again.
