Guest guest
I have really had a lot going on lately, and have had to resort to just reading the digest for a while,. Evenually, I want to tell what happened with my workman's comp case, but don't know how much I can say at this point. I will say that if anyone is pursuring one, then you better be up for the fight of your life. It drains whatever energy you have left out of you. You also better make sure you have a competent attorney who will listen to you and let you put input into the case. I won a partial victory, but think I could have won a lot more, if my attorneys had used some of the 2 years worth of research that I had done. When it came down to it, they didn't use much of it at all. Their theory was that all they had to have is doctor(s) depostions saying that I was sick because of mold, and since the judge didn't know that much about mold would not want to read a lot of other documents. (I had two doctors's depositons), but my attorneys underestimated the lengths that the defense would go to to disprove my doctors, . I am probably lucky that I at least won something, because these cases are very difficult to win. I hope I will be able to use my experience to help others and make a dent in the system since the judge did rule that my school environment did at least casue temporary disability. My diagnosis has been severe allergic fungal sinusitis (but not the typical allergy type, so allergy shots won't help, maybe even make it worse, as some people have stated). I don't show allergic to anything, but have the immune response to mold antigens that perpetuates the chonic sinusitis. I did have all of the typical symptoms of exposure to toxic molds while I was in the workplace, but a lot of them have impoved since being out of the envrionment for about 3 years, but the sinusitis seems to be permanent and disabling in itself. I would like to correspond with others who have this diagnosis. I did read about someone seeing Dr. Sherris, one of the main doctors that deals with this and was at Mayo Clinic and now at Buffalo, NY. I tried to contact you, but your email address was not complete. I have made an appoinment with him, but would like to hear from anyone who has actually seen him or knows more about his treatment, since it is a long way for me to travel.. As I am only getting the digest right now, please email me privately. Kathyw --------------------------------- Love cheap thrills?
