Guest guest
Courthouse mold's days are numbered May 11, 2006 06:11 PM EDT Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version WDAM-TV - Hattiesburg,MS http://www.wdam.com/Global/story.asp?S=4893575 Forrest County officials are expediting the evacuation of employees from the moldy courthouse because their health is at risk. In a specially called meeting Thursday, the board of supervisors accepted a $61,000 bid from Specialty Abatement Services to remove some of the mold. Only the furniture, equipment, files and contents of the courthouse will be cleansed at this time. Board President Hudson says a limited cleaning is necessary to get courthouse employees out as quickly as possible. " It's a health issue, " he says. " We got a lot of people working in that courthouse and they're breathing that stuff every day. Hudson says the entire courthouse will be cleaned as soon as the employees are cleared out. They'll be relocated to temporary offices all over the Pine Belt.
