Guest guest
Hi AnneC and All, I thank you all for your support... I'm doing better... Have a bad head cold, and was quite ill for the week... Headaches finally gone, ( so is hurricane ) cold trying to move into lungs but will keep an eye on it... I have to be careful not to catch anything, but what do ya do when school starts??? ) Children Love to share everything!!! Hearts doing its own thing, it too shall pass... Body does as it pleases, ya all understand that one! BUT, it could all be worse!!! ) As for our families, we still haven't heard anything from hubby's Aunt and family... If she did ride it out, she's on the other side of the bridge and can't get out anyways now... Phones are out and so is power... As for my friends son and family, he finally called this morning from Texas, as that is where they went, The base, (Egland Air Force ) called him and told him to report back to base by Sunday night, and to take the long back way in, he's to leave his family ( wife & 2 babies)where they are as there is no place for them to go there, everything is devastated... As to what happen to their home they are buying?, he won't know till he gets there, as it too is on the other side of the bridge that is destroyed... ( I helped take care of him when he was little) so don't know anymore about them till later... As for my girlfriends stepdaughter, she was hit with Francis and Charley, she lives in Kissamee near Orlando, they were hoping to be able to save some of their home, but it has finally been deemed unlivable and has to be bulldozed down ( All these young folks are just that, just young adults trying to start homes for their own families... Will keep you updated as I find out... Again Thank-You All!!! ((( THANKING HUGS ))) HELEN Dearest Helen By this time I hope you have heard from your family! They most likely left early or are still in shelters up North and cannot return home by order until the cities are back to being habitable , they are turned upside down in a disaster and just do not want to do anything after this shock of a hurricane, I worried about my friend , no news from him or his wife for four days, then today I put on the puter and there are messages from my friend, sweet day indeed! And they live in New Orleans! The traffic was horrendous just coming back, return traffic is being staggered to avoid too much tie up but when it takes 6 hours to cross Pontchartrane lake from Baton Rouge and it normally takes one hour at 70 mph, then you know the problem! Keep tuned to the TV, you would hear if there was any way to do so at this point. I know about the worry, my DIL was really shaken up after Charley, I called her, she would never have called me , she was just very shaken. .. The Red x has a number to call if one wants info about anyone I believe Hugs of sympathy, tain't easy., I know but things will be normal soon Anne May today there be peace within you.May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Guest guest
And the darned insurance companies are balking aleady, the deductibles on insurance apply to each single event, imagine a poor person facing this huge liability! Cruel. Anne
Guest guest
Hello What I read was that since there was two hurricanes, the deductible is double regardless of whether it was one repair or two. Apparently, Florida law allows this to happen. Doesn't seem fair at all unless the insurance company was actually able to repair the houses between the hurricanes. Of course, what do you expect from an idustry that thrives on not paying out.
