Guest guest
Matt, do you have a micro-current machine? I've had some success with similar cases using the remote probes on points surrounding the ear. (combined with adjusting.) There are some side-effects of dizziness or slight disorientation with treatment used on the head and especially surrounding the ear; so it's good to warn the patient to have another person drive them in. Or use the Eply's maneuver with the stuff I'm suggesting. You can call me off list if you want more advice on it. You're right tho, it's impossible to promise any result. In the mean time, it's a good thing to proceed with other diagnostic causes. I once had a patient who fell off a horse, hit her right ribcage. Developed immediate pain and tingling. X-rays reveal no fractures. I began adjusting and PT. It helped but the symptoms never would go away completely and kept increasing with no adjusting. I finally had an MRI done and found a large spinal cord tumor. She had a successful surgery to remove the benign tumor. Her MD agreed that there was no way I could've known the overlay of problems. Only the right side of her head hit. She had immediate, near complete loss of hearing in her left ear. No blackout, no dizziness, headache, and negative for all neuros and orthos. She went to her primary MD, who sent her to an ENT, who rx'd a CAT Scan and audiology. CAT Scan shows everything is normal except that her left side "outermost ear bone is misplaced somewhat, jammed against the outer side of my ear", according to her. She was told that this could possibly account for the hearing loss, and that her right ear was normal. Audiology says all high frequency sounds are gone, she has retained just a little of the lower frequencies. The accident was about 3 weeks ago, and a friend told her to try chiropractic. Apparently I am no D.D. Palmer, her hearing did not come back after the adjustment. Her ENT wants to do an MRI to look for the remote possibility of a tumor somewhere. Does anyone have any ideas for this lady?ADIO,Matt Dr. Matt Freedman Chiropractic Physician Pure Life Chiropractic, LLC 1000 Willagillespie Road Suite 100 Eugene, Oregon 97401 (541) 343- 5633http://www.EugeneChiropractic.com/ http://www.EugeneHyperbaric.com/
Guest guest
Sounds like you already have the diagnosis: 'the outermost ear bone is misplaced somewhate, jammed again the outer side of my ear"......a clear case of cranial distortion: temporal subluxation. Cranials, my man, cranials! And no, I can't guarantee it would bring the hearing back. But there is likely no chance of it coming back til that tmeporal is moved, either spontaneously or manipulatively. Guest guest
Cranial-Sacral therapy. If you don't use Upledger technique, refer to someone who does. By the way, DD adjusted T4, as I recall, to have Harvey Lilliard get his hearing back. Christian Mathisen, DC 3654 S Pacific Hwy Medford, OR 97501 cmathdc@...
