I did my first two sets of lunges without added weight for the first half of challenge one. I also do static lunges, meaning I get in position and do all the reps on one side then switch and do the other side. i picked straight-leg-Deadlift instead. Is this a good supstitute until i get the lunges under control? Deadlifts are good but hard on the lower back so be careful and make sure your form is correct. > Or is there another excersice with dumbbells ( i work out at home). > i looked at EXRX but can´t find one Step ups will work both quads and hammies > 2:i am breaking out ! i get big red pimples on my chest and my neck, is this normal? what is going on? You might need to change your protien powder or bars. Some folks have this reaction to certain protien mixes. I don't even use the shakes and bars anymore. > felt like puking. Is this also normal ? Here, I thought I had super strong legs because I can do leg curls and the leg press machines on fairly high weights, but then I started doing lunges and there was no way I could do them with weights and I could only do a few unassisted, so what I do is stand next to a chair when I do them and try to do them without holding on with one hand, but if I need to, it's right there, and gradually, I hope to gain the strength to do them without holding on and then eventually with weights. After I do them and squats I am SO sore for like 2 or 3 days, but not sore as in I hurt myself, just muscle soreness! My advice is to keep trying. Do what you can, do them holding onto something to keep your balance and focus really hard on your form so that you don't hurt your knees. I think if we keep at it long enough, we'll gain the strength and the balance to do them well with weights. Ladies, please correct me if I'm wrong, this is just what I do and I think it will help to gradually work up to doing them with weights. Unfortunately for me, this is normal when I lay off and then get back into working out. I get it on my back area tho. What has helped me is Neutrogena's Acne Scrub. ANd i won´t give up trying !! i´ll make myself into a master of the Lunges :-)))LOL In the meanwhile i do step-ups. And i am going to try a diffrent Protein.I am not eating bars, but i do have one in my purse for emergencies only. Thank you for the Link !! i have never seen anything like that and i am going to read into that. i am hurting today ! it is hard to get up from the chair and i love it !!Can not wait to lift them weights again.
