Guest guest
Posted on Mon, May. 15, 2006 Hercules City Hall closed two Fridays By Tom Lochner CONTRA COSTA TIMES San Mercury News - CA http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/breaking_news/1458546 1.htm Hercules City Hall will be closed the following two Fridays to repair water damage from the recent rainy season that resulted in mold. Water seeped into the city manager's office and surrounding offices, raising concerns for the health of the city staff, said Hercules Public Information Officer Doreen Mathews. After tests revealed mold spores that could trigger allergic reactions, a city-commissioned firm devised a mold remediation plan that calls for removing, cleaning and replacing ceiling tiles in all the affected offices. The work will begin Friday and is expected to take approximately 35 days. The main City Hall building will close Friday and reopen Monday. It will close again May 26 and reopen May 30, the Tuesday after Memorial Day. The Police Department, Affordable Housing office and Senior Center will remain open and maintain normal business hours, Mathews said.
