Guest guest
Actually, a few months ago I heard that they (the insrance companies) HAD lobbied the GOP majority for a law, which is now winding its way through Congress, which would ensure that they were (re)paid FIRST out of any funds won through personal injury lawsuits by people who had suffered mold exposure. Even if the person had years of medical costs ahead of them, and had lost their job, home, health, etc. the medical insurance companies would get paid first for money they had spent on the persons medical care, even if it was years earlier.. Does anyone know if this ever passed? Its distressing that people with pressing, lifelong medical issues who had lost their jobs because of them would be left out in the cold by this 'solution' even if they 'won' their lawsuits.. BUT the cost now, for NOT working preventatively, is borne by us. So why would they cooperate? If they were to pay with preventative measures, it would shift the cost to them. Its cheaper to deny reimbursements AND not work preventatively, but back to it being all about money. -
