I thought this PubMed article somewhat on topic here since many

people have immune system problems:

" Antioxidant agents ALA, NAC, and AMI enhanced significantly the

PBMCs progression through the cell cycle, thus providing evidence of

their potential role in the functional restoration of the immune

system in advanced cancer patients. "

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?

cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & list_uids=12928788 & dopt=Abstract

or shortcut url: http://tinyurl.com/meqtn

I had a hard time finding anything but 'acute myocardial infarc' for

AMI, so to safe others from the search this reference refers to

prescription drug, amifostine (AMI), which below excerpt thought was

only equally as effective as NAC:

http://www.cancerdecisions.com/121303_page.html

" Two of the three antioxidants were the supplements alpha-lipoic

acid (ALA) and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC), generally available in

health food stores. The third was a prescription drug, amifostine

(AMI), which is sometimes used to counteract the free radical damage

caused by radiation and chemotherapy. The scientists found that the

addition of any of these three antioxidants significantly enhanced

the progression of patients' white blood cells through their normal

cell cycle. Cancer patients' sluggish white blood cells became

highly activated and able to progress once they were cultured with

these antioxidants. The greatest degree of activation, boosted by

150%, came with use of the supplement NAC. But ALA and AMI were

almost equally effective. "

To who was taking these and stopped, why not try taking just

one of them? Sometimes things clash but taken separately work okay.

I always add 'one' thing at a time to my protocol and also in small

amount and then increase amount if okay and then try adding other

something else if I wanted to take two things.
