Guest guest
Yes, this is what I use for my tuna and turkey sandwiches. Only one slice though at 20 carbs per. My kids take this in their lunches too. I don't think they have ever eaten white bread, lol. It is quite tasty too. The main thing to remember is not to use this at every meal, maybe only one or two. Guest guest
Yes, it's acceptable, but if you buy the Lee " Heart Healthy " 100% Wheat instead of the " Homestyle " it's only 70 cals and 13g of carbs per slice. And if you buy the Lee " Delightful " Wheat it's only 45 calories and 9g of carbs per slice. They all taste great. I usually buy the ones that are lower in calories and carbs so I don't have to stress over making a big sandwich with two full-size pieces of bread. SaraLee Homestyle 100% WW Bread Is this bread acceptable?
Guest guest
Two things to also look for in an 'acceptable' bread is that the very first ingredient should be 'whole wheat' and then besides carbs as pointed out theres a big range difference btwn breads, also look at the FAT content! SOme 'healthy' breads are 3+grams - look for ones that are .05 or 1gram per slice. <<joni>> *who has been known to wander in the bread aisle for up to ten minutes reading labels* :-o
Guest guest
Thanks ladies for the answers. I'll have to try the delightful wheat also. I just checked and I have the " heart healthy " version now. I was surprised that there are 5 grams of protein in each slice. Wonder where that protein comes from? > > Two things to also look for in an 'acceptable' bread is that the > very first ingredient should be 'whole wheat' and then besides carbs > as pointed out theres a big range difference btwn breads, also > look at the FAT content! Guest guest
Wheat actually has quite a bit of protein in it. There's a surprising amount of protein in a bagel or a serving of pasta, like 6-10 grams. Re: SaraLee Homestyle 100% WW Bread Thanks ladies for the answers.
