Guest guest
From: Lew Harriman <LewH@...> Date: Thu Apr 13, 2006 6:16 pm Subject: California Builder's Guide to Reducing Mold Risk moisture iequality/message/6640 Some may be interested to know that one of the deliverables from a research project funded by the California Energy Commission is now available to the public. " A California Builder's Guide to Reducing Mold Risk " is a no-cost, 61-page PDF, which can be downloaded from the project website at the Gas Research Institute. Scroll down to the bottom right side of this page for the link: www.gastechnology.org/moldresearch Many who subscribe to this IAQ list have generously given of their time and experience to make this document relevant and useful to developers, designers, builders and owners of new housing in California. (Including the moderator of this group, Jim Holland of RESTCON) The project was paid for principally by the utility rate payers of California through the PIER program (Public Interest Energy Research) and also by the Gas Research Institute. Three things you might want to keep in mind as you read through the document: 1. This is simply a report to the commission. The California Energy Commission has neither approved nor disapproved the recommendations, nor does the Commission necessarily agree or disagree with the contents. 2. The report has no regulatory standing. 3. The report is in its final form. So while we very much welcome discussion and other input for the future, there is no current funding to revise, add or correct any items you might disagree with, or which you might find controversial, or which you may feel are less detailed than one might wish. Again, thanks to the rate payers and to the California Energy Commission for their support, as well as to our colleagues on this list and elsewhere who helped with the project. We sincerely hope the document may prove useful to the public.
