Angel, I read that washing fruits and veggies with water that you have

put some vitamin C powder into will help to kill microbes on food.

I guess that is washing fruit and veggies with citric acid. barb

Sorry this is in two parts. I remember now tip to soak lettuce in

vinegar/water to bring back crispness and realize that would kill

microbes also. It does bring back crispness in lettuce also.

I used ascorbic acid in the powder form when I use to do a lot of

canning and freezing. I used it as a perservative instead of the

chemicals in the supermarket. It is logical that it will clean as

well as preserve.
