I have not tried the following however, I have heard

wonderful things about the potato suppository method

for palliation. The patient can peel a potato and

then make it into a stick/suppository and then insert

at night and by morning it will be dissolved. The

potato soothes the area and heals the skin. It may

help some and it might be worth a try. It is

inexpensive and non-toxic to baby and mom. My

understanding is that it is an old nature cure

therapy.

Ami and Brett Hubbard would be a great resource for this gal. Their specialty is proctology. I'm not sure if the Keezy method is o.k. during pregnancy, but it would be worth giving them a call. Their clinic is Sandy Blvd Clinic East in Milwaukie. I'm not sure of their phone # but you can look them up on line. Ami and Brett are a great resource and are open to phone calls for advice, suggestions. Another good topical option for treating hemorrhoids is to use

Eclectic's Rectal suppositories. I have found that it offers

better, and longer relief then either Preparation H or the wise women

suppositories. The Bottom's up Balm tends to be helpful initially

and then cause a rebound effect. This does not happen with

Eclectic's suppositories. They will heal the skin

consistently. You can also use the UNDA numbers that address the

liver and portal congestion. A typical Rx is 1, 36, 74, but of course

you must customize the formula for the system you think is actually

causing the problem.
