Guest guest
Lemon verbena was on the IFRA list ... that was surprising! Recently I learned that if one has low thyroid you should not use lemon balm for it slows the thyroid down. So I changed my summer formula and put in lemon verbena instead. I've had no ill effect from it (she says with tremors in her head and hands ... [joking]). I guess lemon grass is the safe bet? Dede

Lemon grass or lemon myrtle or lemon tea tree. Lemon verbena is a fierce sensitizer, and very expensive. It's one of the most adulterated oils out there. I'd never buy it for those reasons. But, boy, do I love fresh and dried lemon verbena leaves!!! Yum. Edible, perfumey, no problems there. Perhaps it was from an unreliable source. I'm known to be skeptical.
