Look at her estrogen. I haven't worked with this myself, but read

about estrogen deficiency being

a problem. It is common after menopause.

Work on immune system. Possibly try quercetin and bromelain.

Try Tilia gemmo.

Hey -

I would look at treatments for nerves. How about Hepar sulf (for hypersensitive nerves) and/or Hypericum. Maybe 9,26,42. With her history of herpes (I know it is not oral but still) seem slike the nerve roots could be irritated.
