Hi Boris,

This company has always seemed a little suspicious

because of some of the very low prices. I have

noticed in the archives that other people have felt

this way. But the fact that they would sell an oil

with no info on it whatsoever makes them look really

bad! This doesn't mean they don't have some good

products, but how can they be trusted to sell pure

essential oils and absolutes if they aren't doing any

testing and asking questions before they sell?

because of some of the very low prices. I have

this way. But the fact that they would sell an oil

with no info on it whatsoever makes them look really

bad! This doesn't mean they don't have some good

products, but how can they be trusted to sell pure

One way to find out is do some research for yourself. I am going to do some

checking into this in my spare time. I for one think the way it is spelled

is a mispelling.

Newbie here, de-lurking.

This may be slightly tangential to the original post, but nonetheless

related. I recently had an experience with NDA regarding their

business practices that turned me off; however something so

irresponsible as offering an oil they know nothing about would make

me think twice about doing business with them at all. I did notice on

their site that they are advertising GC testing in the near future

for all their oils, though coming on the heels of the news in this

thread I wonder how conscientious they'd be about consistently

performing GC testing when (if) they implement it.

I've noticed quite a few sites are like this where they don't have the

information available on the oils they sell. It is something they need

to do something about.

This is something I've noticed ALOT on the ND's site for Australia.

I'm not sure if it is the same for their other sites.

I did quite a few searches myself on 'Lican' and finally came across

something that shed a little light on what this may be. The site is

Biosynthesis (I) Pvt.Ltd. They sell a Lican Oil Ex however this was

also listed.

Lichnperiata( parmelia periata,ach)

When I did a search on this I got some results. Yellow Lichin. It's

mostly known as Parmelia. From herbalpeople.com I found this

information.

Latin Name - Parmelia lichin

Sanskrit Name - Shaileya

English Name - Stone Flower

Common Name - Charela

Parts Used - Moss

Drug Class - Astringent, carminative, laxative, aphrodisiac.

Indication - Dyspepsia

I hope this helps anyone who has an interest in what this oil 'could'

be.

I purchased eo's from new dir as a once off to check them out and I

found the oils smelt rough, the frankincense I remember was really sad.

Does anyone want to reccommend a good supplier in Aust. I've found

seoc good for some. Any comments.

Their prices are not really any lower they just offer them in smaller

quantities re 6ml instead of 10ml plus Vat.... in UK being 17.5%

I'm not the one that said that... LOL

I know that they have decent prices on some of their stuff that I know of.

I for one am not afraid of trying something I know nothing about... I'm a

little on the adventurous side tho' and to test I use myself as a guinea pig

At least I can say.... I do not do animal testing unless you consider me

an animal. I do believe that those who have a question, shouldn't be afraid

to ask and ask and ask until they either get the answer they are looking for

or go and research it for themselves. I tend to be a person who would

rather research something than have an answer that was verbatim from the

sales department of some company that is intent on making as much money as

they can no matter what the cost (not saying all businesses are like that,

just for the most part even the sales depts don't do their homework and find

out what are the risks and benefits of some of the things they sell.)

It may be that the UK prices are more average but some

of the prices here in the US are pretty low. IE: some

of the roses, pink lotus, carnation, etc. I don't

mean to imply that they are a bad company though! I

just think that the fact that they sold " lican "

without any info on what it is and the fact that they

have low prices makes me wonder if they know what they

are selling all of the time. There is so much

adulteration in these materials anyway that I think

it's better (for me anyway) to purchase from a more

diligent company. I don't have a good enough nose to

judge for myself!

I have been very happy with ND in Uk who are very diligent......Caroline

Ingraham recommended them to me ( www.ingraham.co.uk) as uses them along side

Florial in France who I think are wonderful...... ND italian neroli is just

beautiful. I think they have been very responsive .... Their original Lican

dist was gone and when had their new supplier they were not happy and pulled it

off their catalogue pending investigation .... I spoke to them..... I don't

think you can be fairer than that..... Also, OE suppliers ..... I still find

many who do not supply their Bnos when sending the oil....

I get many oils from ND as I'm able to get oils through them that

other Australian companies don't offer. To try different companies,

go to health food shops, chemists etc where they sell oils and sample

them. It'll give you an idea of what they have to offer. Aside from

that, go through the yellow pages and contact a few places to see

what they have.

I've found these available in at most health food shops. The

Oil Garden. Gumleaf Essentials. Pro-Oils. In Essence. Pretty stock

standard in what they offer range wise.

Auroma is a larger company that is pretty good. They have a site you

can check out. Do a search.
